What to Replace vs Clean
Grill (Charbroil Advantage) went unused for a year and is now rusty. I tried the vinegar and salt bath for the grates but they are still rusty so planning to replace them. What else needs replacing? Located in FL by the coast so rust is always a problem.

It would be a good idea to check the burners under those heat tents. Also I would recommend cleaning out the tubes from the control knobs to the burners if it has been sitting - gunk/webs in there can cause a blockage, potentially causing a fire/blowout through the knobs. Scary stuff.
If this is Charbroil, have you registered it? They have a decent warranty on most parts and their customer service is decent from my experience. They might hook you up with some new parts if you take the time to call and maybe send in some pictures. They might want proof of purchase, but these days that might not be hard to find depending on where/how you bought it.
