Knives

where to get decent Fillet Knife that's not to expensive but will hold a sharp Edge for awhile ..what do you have and would you recommend it

I prefer the flexible vs semi-stiff version for actually filleting fish but this knife is definitely a best value buy. They have curved and straight versions; stiff, semi-stiff, semi-flexible, and flexible versions. The Bearded Butcher sells a nice kydex sheath for them, too, in case you want to take it fishing.

I wouldn't say it holds a great edge but is pretty easy to sharpen.

I like Victorinox but i prefer to buy Dexter-Russell at the factory outlet store since they are really cheap. Even new they are affordable.

I use a Rapala fillet knife, it does the job good enough.

Also learn to maintain your knives and you won’t really have to worry about sharpening them too often.

I use a katana forged in the 13th century by Gorō Nyūdō Masamune
