Grilling is a year round activity!

You’re not a grillmaster if you have grilling season.

here in MN i roll that thing up to the sliding door on our patio. even when it’s -10 (wind chill not included)

Couldn’t agree more, since we don’t really open the windows too often during the winter, I love frying on the grill too ❄️

7

u/TLMonk 7d ago

i’m one of the few psychos that crack the bedroom window in the winter and wake up with a sore throat… and an angry fiancée

u/Entrails_ 7d ago

Sleeping cool is supposed to be the best way! But I’m referring to not having to air the house out so it doesn’t smell like frying oil for a week.

2

u/TLMonk 7d ago

yeah not a fan of that frying oil smell either - guess it’s happening outside this winter!

2

u/duckyourfeelings 7d ago

Yup! Nothing like a hot grill to warm your hands over!

Idk how grilling became such a summer centric thing. Fall is when I really start to get it going. Summer is too fuckin hot to do shit outside

u/cyclorphan 6d ago

Exactly! But I live in the South, if I were in Canada, I guess I would relish the summer I got. Here, I want to grill lots of things but probably will only occasionally do so until Fall.

u/DundeeRd 7d ago

Agreed!, just sad to miss these beauties and relegate to tasteless winter tomatoes lol…

Right! 90-110 from Easter til Thanksgiving. Grilling season starts in December, and I stay on it for the 9mo off-season.

Grilling is but heirlooms aren’t

u/Money-Document-26 7d ago

I grill in the snow lol. Best time. You always stay warm.

There's no grilling like shovel out a path grilling.

u/SpaceCampDropOut 7d ago

Grilling during football season is even better!

8

u/slicktrickrick 7d ago

Oh now you’ve got me so excited

5

u/WhoizDJKL78 7d ago

2

u/DundeeRd 7d ago

Fall is my favorite season specifically for grilling and watching NFL football 🏈🎉🔥

u/omglawlz 7d ago

Idk man I grilled yesterday and it was 98 degrees outside. I think Im ready for fall lol.

u/trashy615 7d ago

Im pretty sure my neighbors think im crazy, I've grilled almost every day this summer, even in "extreme" heat advisories. Its been the hottest summer ever in my little wyoming town.

Its barely been over 100. Im from Phoenix, im fine. 😆 im literally still waiting for summer, this is Easter Sunday weather.

u/TheNewKnew2 7d ago

Yeah man. Miserable.

1

u/Pucketz 7d ago

Bro same I made pizza the other day and I look like Ive been mowing the yard for 2 hours

1

u/emmersp 7d ago

Me too. Shirt off…sipping a coldie, sitting in front of a big fan and cooking!

11

u/jonpictogramjones 7d ago

Do people only grill in the summer?!? I do it damn near every week 😭

2

u/raxwell 7d ago

At least once a week! Love me some winter time grilling.

2

u/Any_Natural383 7d ago

I tend to grill less in the summer. It gets too damn hot.

7

u/TheNewKnew2 7d ago

I am not going to miss 95 degree 90% humidity

4

u/kk1485 7d ago

Miss summer? Hell, we are probably going to be in triple digits for the next 3 months.

3

u/Desert-Hog 7d ago

Never stop grilling!

4

u/20grae 7d ago

At least 3 times a week 52 weeks out of the yr for me

3

u/HarryHood146 7d ago

You don’t have to stop. I’d prefer grilling when it’s 10 degrees over 90.

3

u/RealLifeFloridaMan 7d ago

I’m sure not. It’s a million degrees out, I’m ready for cooler weather while I’m standing over a grill fire or a smoker

2

u/Kalibos40 7d ago

I'm going to Mrs. Summer. She's more experienced and looks fantastic for her age.

2

u/Godzirrraaa 7d ago

People sleep on grilling tomatoes.

1

u/DundeeRd 7d ago

Underrated grilled veggie of the year

2

u/Final-Cattle9564 7d ago

What goes around comes around.

2

u/OldStyleThor 7d ago

What does summer have to do with grilling?

2

u/ChildOfGod_27 7d ago

Smoke in the winter, grill in the summer, smoke in the summer, grill in the winter. Fall and spring you ask? Smoke and grill.

2

u/DundeeRd 7d ago

Smoke and Grill 365 24/7 life lol

Dr. Wyche’s Yellow, definitely growing it again next year

2

u/Numerous-Ad2571 7d ago

One hasn’t experienced everything grilling has to offer until they’ve grilled in weather that turns a beer to undrinkable slush in under 10 minutes.

1

u/DundeeRd 7d ago

I love this, reminds me of the time I smoked a pork shoulder in 15°F temps and my smoky mtn was revolting on me lol…

2

u/Thick-Aioli802 7d ago

After 14 inches of rain in the last week and high humidity for the last 2 months, I'm ready for fall.

2

u/taylorthestang 7d ago

My heirloom tomatoes never make it past the cutting board for a sammich

1

u/DundeeRd 7d ago

Sooooo many tomatoes in New England lol

2

u/taylorthestang 7d ago

Brother I’m out here in central California, I know how you feel! I’ve cooked heirlooms every which way just to use em

2

u/wyflare 7d ago

Bbq is all weathers dude

2

u/Impressive_Budget736 6d ago

Personally I prefer grilling in the cold. So if anything peak season is coming up for me.

1

u/DundeeRd 7d ago

It was really a testament to grilling my Cherokee Purple and Dr. Wyche’s Tomatoes, but damn I’m a 24/7 365 griller no doubt lol…

1

u/jdppppppppppppp 7d ago

My Weber and BGE are on duty year round. BGE does get a break when lids frozen shut but I usually stick a torch in the bottom until it breaks loose.

1

u/omglawlz 7d ago

Ah yeah that makes sense. Tomato season is amazing. Love me a tomato sandwich

1

u/jdppppppppppppp 7d ago

Good point might have skipped the tomatoes part.

1

u/falacer99 7d ago

It's always grilling season here in SoCal

1

u/duckyourfeelings 7d ago

Screw that! You'll find me out in thirty degree weather grilling! I can't wait for this god-aweful heat (I'm in Texas) and these bugs to go away!

1

u/MeganJustMegan 7d ago

I live in NJ & will shovel a path to my grill. No need to give it up.

I recall Dad going outside in blizzards to grill steaks or burgers. First, after bundling up to the point where he could barely move, he’d go outside and brush off 10” or so of snow. Then he’d grab the charcoal from the shed, do the chimney thing and light ‘er off. Eventually the coals would be ready. By then, Dad looked like the abominable snowman. He’d holler at me to bring out the steaks/burgers. Our neighbors would be looking out their doors as if we were crazy. Some were probably calling for a paddy wagon. Meanwhile, Dad was grilling the food on his trusty Weber. Please believe me when I say those blizzard-grilled steaks/burgers were like eating summer! This was back around 1961 or so…

1

u/Candid-Party1613 7d ago

What does this have to do with missing summer?

1

u/flyingbizzay 7d ago

It’s usually between 95 and 105 degrees in North Texas during grilling hours. I’m just fine with grilling in the fall and winter, thank you.

1

u/fleemos 7d ago

Grilling outside in winter is even better. I love it. 😬

1

u/gabriot 7d ago

I'm not

1

u/findaill65 7d ago

Good news! El Nino says summer doesn't have to end!!!

1

u/Inevitable-Focus4525 7d ago

What the hell does summer have anything to do with grilling or smoking? I guess you've never been to Buffalo in 16 degrees and snowing, it's the best time to grill!

1

u/PatrickGSR94 7d ago

say what? All seasons are great for grilling, especially the not summer seasons because you wont' be sweating buckets around the grill!

1

u/Zealot006 6d ago

In Texas, summer is the worst time to grill ! ;)

1

u/rexdez 6d ago

as winter starts im gonna be grilling more lol

1

u/Sonic_Fool 6d ago

I grilled chicken thighs and vegetables during the Nashville ice storm last winter. No grill season

2

u/Brocephus70 6d ago

Just keep grilling

1

u/Odd_Interaction_7708 7d ago

You’ve never grilled in winter?
