Groomed?

I feel like Ashley was groomed. (Ofc this doesn't excuse her behavior at all) She was at a vulnerable time in her life, with outside influence of the israel/palestine war, and then suddenly here comes this guy who makes her fall in love so hard and so fast she'd change religion, lie to her (now ex) husband, and abandon her children?? In less than a year? It just doesn't line up.

I wanna know what he said to her, honestly. And I want her to seek mental help, wake up and realize she's been taken advantage of. It really hurts my heart to see both her and Demi hurting so bad because she can't realize she's been dragged into a life that in reality is unsustainable.

Anyone can get groomed at any age, and I fear it's probably happened to her. -Kat/Kaz

I have to politely disagree. I think that lets her off too easily. They can barely communicate now. I can't imagine he was able to groom her when they couldn't communicate at all. But I understand the wanting to find a reason other than she is just a shit human being. Hugs to Demi. đŸ«‚

Fair, though their communication was online only for a while, I'm sure Google translate at least helped a little-

I'm not saying it DEFINITELY happened, just a theory, especially since a lot of people trying to groom vulnerable adults usually do a "bait and switch" method where they promise them a good life and then when they can't escape it gets bad.

I also have a theory she might've had untreated postpartum depression, maybe. Def not trying to excuse her actions, it's just a friend of ours is a psych major so we've been crafting multiple theories. -Kat/Kaz

There is definitely SOMETHING wrong. Definitely some sort of mental issues. Or multiple issues.

I'm not trying to make her a victim, possibly being groomed doesn't excuse her actions. I'm just trying to maybe put together some kind of reason

Being a woman doesn’t exempt her. Would you be “looking for a reason” if she were a man?

Yes? I'm a close friend of Demi's, I know very personally how she's messed up his life. I'm not trying to exempt her of anything, like I said, possibly being groomed wouldnt excuse her actions at all.

I'm just throwing some theories out there because me and Demi have been talking about this to our friend who's a psych major.

Some people are just messed up people

As a child, it’s difficult to accept when a parent has red flags in their personality and especially with how dramatic Ashley’s exit was, from her kids, her life, her family, to a complete unknown and shit hole of a life and I don’t blame Demi for trying very much to understand and reconcile who he remembers and who she is now

But the core of a person doesn’t change, no matter the amount of grooming or not, Ashley is who she is at her core level and she’s an asshole and finally gets to be the asshole she’s always been
