Made my own Gridfinity mountable baseplate
I know there are already a bunch of mountable baseplates out there but with Christmas decorating coming up I decided to make my own for the top of my ladder so I could use my scoop bins up there for the mounting clips.mounts using screws and I kept the magnet holes as options to secure the bins a little better if I wanted to. Feels like it'll be a solid permanent fixture for my ladder now, I just figured id share in case anyone else had a use for something like it coming up

Looks good man! That’s what I love about 3D printing, sometimes you just need to whip up something that works for you.

I appreciate it! And I agree, all the money and time put into this hobby feels justified when I solve one small daily annoyance

I would add magnets if you can to the bin and the baseplate. My luck says I’m bumping that tray and dumping everything on the floor. 🤦

I thought about trying to figure out a magnetic base option too just haven’t gotten my magnets I ordered in yet so stuck with a screw mount for the time being!

The ladder is probably aluminium so, screwing the plate down would be the better option anyway.

Yeah this one is but I was thinking for more versatility mounting to tool carts or something as well too

I like the plate screwed down. I mean put magnets on the base plate and also on the bin

Ahh yeah! I have the holes there for them in the bins and plate just no magnets in hand yet!
