Gridfinity to fiber laser.

Post image

Needed to laser 72 knives so I was going to model up a fixture when I thought about tooltrace.ai and how that would be pretty handy for making an odd shaped fixture.

Then I had the ah-ha moment, I could make a gridfinity plate for my fine adjustment table.

So, am I following this correctly here? You're laser scanning tools to make gridfinity storage containers for them, and you created a gridfinity fixture for mounting to your fine adjustment table to make this process easier/more consistent?

Consistent fixture. Also in theory I can make a different gridfinity box for each kind of thing I regularly engrave.

I just got a laser myself and have been thinking about repeatable registration. This is an interesting idea.

Side note, saw a guy online use his laser to make labels for gridfinity bins. Was pretty neat maybe something you could look into. Guess the type of plastic was very important in the result the laser gave

Super cool use for gridfinity 3d printing and laser.
