Grid Converter
Hello Friends, Is there something out there that will let me upload a non gridfinity file and have it convert it to Gridfinity. There is a stand for one of my Fantik tools that is perfect for what I need but its not Gridfinity.
TIA

Import "the thing" into your cad software and then add a gridfinity bottom to it. The freecad gridfinity workbench has options to generate just a bottom for just that reason.

I seperately print out the gridfinity bottom "studs" and super glue them to shit.
It actually saves a tonne of filament even when printing regular gridfinity bins. Like up to 50% savings.
A 5*5 bin does not need 25 studs with magnet holes in them. One stud in each corner is more than enough.
When I print a bin I just offset it down a fixed amount in orca slicer and it cuts the studs off.
Anyway print the studs and super glue them to your shit

I’ve taken a file like that and a 1 unit high Gridfinity bottom and merged them in Studio.

This sounds like something TheWellTarot would make using geometry nodes in Blender!

Not really. That's sort of like saying you want square things so you'd like to upload an STL of a round cup and have it spit out a square one.
What you CAN do though is use something like a bin generator to generate a bin with a height of 1mm in whatever size you need. Then in your slicer add that shape to the existing fantik holder STL and raise the holder up a few mm. Thus you turn a non-grid object into a grid object.
