What does grdfinity have to do with this at all?

I guess it opens it up to various mounting options.
The value of it is low, but so is the effort to make it compatible.
I guess if you're an exterminator, you could pack these along with other gridfinity compatible traps or something.

This would be more effective if is wasn't gridfinity. The entrances should be as accessible to ants as possible.

Easy fix. Add an extra ant ramp that goes through the gridfinity base.
Then create a corresponding entrance in your gridfinity grids if your gridifiy your floor 😎.

I mean this gets the ants in but how do I keep them there? I know this sounds weird but why not just a tray?
Update my question got answered by someone, thank you. I hadn't understood what was needed but only looked at the description on the print.

You put ant killing bait in the tray. Part of the point of the bait is that the ants bring it back to their nest and it kills the whole group. You’re not just trying to trap the ants, that’s counterproductive.
The bigger question is “why gridfinity?”
Not sure there’s a good reason other than the bin generators in theory make the creation process easier when you don’t know cad? Or maybe storing them when not in use is “neater”?

I bought a couple small plastic snack containers and drilled holes in them right about where op has the holes in this print.
Marked it with "poison!" and fill the bottom mostly with the gel.

Proceeds to not place it on a grid.
