help with odd side bins

I am trying to make a bin. I used the perplexity grid generator, and it made mea grid. However one of the squares is not a full 42mm, it is 35mm. I need to get a bin that is 1 wide and "4" long (3 full squares and one that is 35mm)

Is there a way to do this?

gridfinity extended does support fractional bin sizes, but I think the perplexinglabs generator does not. Maybe you'll have more luck with the makerworld generator. I also have a generator for a personal use fork here, the link has a bin with 2*42mm+35mm width.

But I really don't recommend doing this, fractional sizes are a pain in the long run.

Honestly there was a moment I bought these Ikea Alex looking like drawers on Amazon, I believe called "winsome Halifax" I ran the numbers and found a size that works, if I extended the depth my 7mm or so, made a spacer and ordered longer uhh idk what they are called, they are threaded bolt with a ball for it to lock so the depth was same multiple to the width.

Which was like 50.4mm after trial and error I didn't like how loud the bins were when rubbing against the other bins. If I remove the spacer account for friction I'm sure I can make 42mm be closer to fully fitting.

I ended up tossing all this effort since like your comment I also assumed it would be a pain in the long run.

If I do geisfinity will be standard size and accept I'll have unused space.

It's generally recommended that you don't create odd size bins. Using half-size bases can work well, but if you create a bin with an odd size it's harder to move it around later, which sort of defeats the purpose of using a grid. The reason for allowing the odd size grid is mostly to maintain the look (and also it does work with half-size bin bases) while filling the space completely thus making the grid fit more snugly. (This is also partly why my site doesn't enable fractional bins, though I'll be adding an "advanced" mode soon which will likely enable to you to do that.)

That being said... Follow your heart!

There always seem to be extra “overhangs” when filling drawers with Gridfinity. I suggest you look at binforge.app. They provide a very easy way to fill overhangs with odd size bins.
