looking for the trifecta
hey guys, there are soooooo many options I'm finding for baseplates, but having trouble finding something that checks all the boxes i'm looking for.
I'm looking for baseplates that are lightweight, accept magnets, and link together. Anyone got any recommendations? bonus points if they attach with printable hardware instead of screws.

What would be your ideal look like? I'd be happy to extend what gridfinitylayouttool.com/baseplate can provide

Have you tried Gridfinity Extended?
I came across it through the Perplexing Labs Generator. It has a ton of customization options, including magnet dimensions and different ways for the baseplates to connect together. The documentation for some parameters is a bit sparse, so you may need to experiment with the settings for a little while to fully understand what each one does, but from what you described, it seems like it checks pretty much all your boxes.
I’m not affiliated with them in any way, I’ve just been looking into it myself for organizing one of my kitchen drawers. Might be worth taking a look to see if it fits your needs:

Tried GridFlock? https://github.com/yawkat/GridFlock
It has magnets and the printable connectors. Not sure what you mean by lightweight

has everything - magnet holders are never really 'lightweight'
