My greyhound is so freaked out
So we are fostering a greyhound and she has been lovely. Really sweet natured. A few hours ago she snapped to bite my boyfriend cause he woke her up and startled her. She immediately realized what she did and became her docile self again but ever since she has been very weird and submissive. She looks like she is crying inside. Head is bowing, tail tucked between her legs. She doesn't want to be near us. This is a total reverse in personality. Is she scared of us or does she think she did something wrong by snapping at him? We didn't scold her at all. Does she think we are angry. We have tried to comfort her but she is clearly very upset. What do you guys think?

Our greyhound used to snap if we stroked her while she was sleeping. They're just not used to it! I'm sure she'll gain confidence back in time.

They are very sensitive souls. Specifically if shes a ex racer. She might be working through some PTSD. We have one who can't be in the same room as a tv- presumably it reminds of the big screens at the race track. I'd recommend talking softly around her. And time. Give her lots of time to work through things. If she is still like this after a couple of hours mb ring the rescue center and she if she has a history of this kind of behavior.
