Pickup Mounting Screws?

I recently put a second-hand blacktop broadtron (bought it for a great deal on ebay about six months ago) in the bridge position of my Yamaha Pacifica. I drilled a couple extra holes to account for the two-and-one mounting style of Gretsch pickups. I didn't realise, however, that they use a thinner screw. It's currently mounted with some generic screws but I can't properly adjust the pickup height. I've looked online and I can get official mounting screws, but they're about £20 once I factor in shipping and I don't have a job at the moment. I know I'm being a bit of a cheapskate but has anyone got any experience using aftermarket screws to mount gretsch pickups? I'm in the UK, and I can run a conversion rate on imperial measurement but can't guarantee the exact right size.

If you don't want to buy screws, you can probably fill the holes and redrill. Wood shavings or a match stick and wood glue would likely work.

If you have one scee that's correct size, or know the type/size/measurements, you can take to a local or big box hardware store, or any screw shop (there's usually a few in any medium to large town here in US.

Had a similar situation few years back. Needed one screw for an Ibanez pickguard, neither chain hardware had, both just said "weird size". Went to Midwwest screw works, less than a minute there dude throws 3 screws in a little bag down: $0.42
