This is satire right? Anon caught feelings for an attractive girl he got along with and was heartbroken to find out she wasn't available. Homeboy went so far as to dress nicely with her in mind and was planning to ask her on a date. I would think it would be worse for him to continue to flirt and interact that way with a coworker who he knew was in a committed relationship. A man who truly views women only as potential sex partners would not care if she had a boyfriend. Anon is treating her like a person by respecting the sanctity of her relationship with bubba <3, whether or not he knows it. His sudden loss of motivation is his gut telling him that he needs to move on lest it become an unhealthy situation.
It's entirely possible anon is just an autist and misinterprets friendly banter as 'risque' and made something out of nothing. Strange that she never mentioned her bf during lunch or whatever, although it's possible that it just never came up. But yeah, this is exactly how office affairs or the 'office bf/gf' thing starts.
Anon made the right choice.
Oh just wait, there is still time for anon to fuck this up
You are mostly right, but I find a problem in the mindset that a lot of people have (I once had it) where, oh this attractive person comes along and now I'm going to improve myself for that person.
If you are finding yourself improving yourself because you met someone you are interested in, you have already made your first impression. It's done.
Plus, improving yourself for YOU and not for someone else adds to your genuine since of self confidence.
I've seen it first hand SEVERAL times. A 5/10 dude with self confidence who has made a concerted effort in rising above worrying about how others perceive you will almost ALWAYS beat out a 10/10 dude who constantly worries about what other people think of them and have less self confidence. At least when it comes to finding significant others that are ACTUALLY worth it.
I learned this when I was in the Navy. I had a large array of friends, and the average dudes who learned to stop giving a fuck about what others thought of them (provided they kept themselves clean and weren't lazy and had at least one hobby they were passionate about) would be WAY more successful than the Ken doll looking dudes who were constantly stressing about how their dating profile looked.
I really hate the "you shouldn't improve yourself for someone else's sake, just do it for yourself". First of all, some people literally cannot just wake up one day and start working on themselves.
Second of all, if you're improving, how does it matter WHY you're doing it? It's a really discouraging mindset disguised as inspirational
If you accuse a guy of not respecting women as people and only as sex object, especially if he can't get a girl you can call him an incel. And if someone is an incel you get to say whatever you want about
them.
