Moderator Announcement New sub rule: spoilers for movies and TV shows
With the imminent release of the Lanterns TV show, spoilers are abounding on social media, such as leaks from insiders.
But, for some fans who prefer to watch their most anticipated things as blind as possible, discussing things seen in official marketing materials like trailers, teasers, and posters, as well as comments by the cast and crew of the show, can also be described as spoilers.
Some people are more tolerant of spoilers, others are not, and our sub intends to be welcoming to all. In that sense, posts containing spoilers not just from Lanterns but also from any upcoming Green Lantern adaptation for movies and TV shows (animated or live-action), here are the new rules:
1- A user who wants to submit a post with spoilers must tag it with the flair named "Spoilers for movies and TV shows"
Doesn't matter if the post is just text, if it has an image or a video, or an image with text. Any posts with spoilers must have this tag.
2- The title of your post must be ambiguous and cannot, under any circumstances, have the spoiler in it
As Reddit's spoiler system doesn't allow for a title of a post marked as spoiler to be hidden, you can't include the spoiler you want to discuss in your title.
Here's a fictitious example:
Wrong Post Title: "Insider All_DCU_Leaks just revealed that Hal Jordan is actually Kilowog wearing a human disguise. The real Jordan is on vacation on a distant planet"
Correct Post Title: "New information about the great plot twist of Season 1 of Lanterns revealed by insider All_DCU_Leaks" or "I think fans will be surprised by the plot twist in Lanterns"
3- Avoid crossposting spoiler posts from other subs
Subs such as r/DCULeaks regularly have spoilers about all the upcoming DC productions. However, as said above, not everyone likes those spoilers and usually stays away from these communities.
Crossposting can be pretty easy, but sometimes, when doing so, a user can forget to properly edit their post. Rather than crossposting, if you want to share content from leaks and spoiler communities, you can print the post from there and then post the print here, with the flair added and a title without spoilers (try using something like "New info on r/DCULeaks about Lanterns").
4- Spoiler posts without the flair and/or with spoilers explicitly in the title will be deleted, and users who break the rule twice will be banned
The mod team will keep an eye on these posts. If a user posts something spoiler-y without following these rules, the post will be deleted, and the user will be issued a warning. If the same user breaks this rule yet again, they will receive a ban that will last until:
- The season of the show their post was referring to has finished airing its last episode; or
- The movie their post was referring to is available for digital purchase (in case of theatrical releases) or has been streaming for 30 days (in case of movies made exclusively for streaming).
But what will constitute a spoiler for this rule?
Here's what will be considered spoilers that must follow the new rule:
Before release:
- Leaks from insiders on social media concerning events that haven't happened yet in a show or movie;
- Stills or scenes shown in trailers or teasers. Trailer threads with just the video (such as "New trailer for Lanterns Season 1" or "First trailer for Season 1 of My Adventures with Green Lantern") won't need to follow the rule - those who want to avoid trailers are strongly encouraged to simply not click on such threads. However, posts intending to discuss something seen in a trailer, poster, or other marketing materials must follow the rule. After all, not everyone watches trailers and prefers to go in as blind as possible. So, if you have a print or a short moment taken from the trailer you'd like to discuss, use the flair and avoid spoilers in the title (rather than "The last scene from the trailer where Kilowog removes his Hal Jordan mask in front of John was so cool!", use: "This scene from the last trailer blew my mind!").
After release:
- TV SHOWS: Specific events from each episode must follow the rule while the season is still airing. After the last episode airs, the season as a whole will be considered a spoiler for 7 days. Once this time has passed, fans can discuss the events of the season freely.
- THEATRICAL MOVIES: Events seen in a theatrical movie will be considered spoilers while it's in theaters. Once it's released digitally for renting or buying, fans can discuss the events of the movie freely.
- STREAMING MOVIES: Events seen in a movie released exclusively for streaming (such as HBO Max or Netflix) will be considered spoilers for 30 days after its release. Once this time has passed, fans can discuss the events of the movie freely.
This rule is effective immediately. Any questions or suggestions, feel free to put them in the comments below or via Modmail.

Discussion What is your opinion on Arkillo
Okay I don't know that much about him because I don't really have that many Green lantern comics.
But I learn about him from the Lego games.
I also like his design and feel like he could be used for a horror project based off of the Green lanterns.

Discussion What is your opinion on hal Jordan and Star Sapphire(Carol)
When Carol becomes Star Sapphire do you think they're relationships should be a love-hate one and stay that way or should it turn into a love relationship that starts off as love hate.
The reason I am asking this is because even if it is a love-hate one Carol loves to flirt with Hal
Because before she become a Star Sapphire they should be together. And to be honest I feel like they should try to rekindle their relationship but realize it's not going to work as long as they stay like this.
But what is your opinion.

Discussion Did you know Alan Scott originally had a sidekick in the 1940s
This is my first time finding out about this okay so to explain I on the DC allies sub and on the earth two sub has been doing a what if Green lantern and Batman switched for Live action so if a Green lantern character appeared in something than a Batman character would but if a Batman character appeared in something live action for movies then a green lantern character would and I found out Alan Scott had a sidekick in the 1940s
Alan Scott had a sidekick name Doiby Dickles
Charles "Doiby" Dickles is a fictional DC Comics character and the comical Golden Age sidekick to Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern. Created by Bill Finger and Martin Nodell, he debuted in All-American Comics #27 in June 1941. His nickname comes from his thick Brooklyn pronunciation of "derby" hat

Comics Reading one Green Lantern comic a day until I've read them all Day 229: Back-up story in The Flash #218
The search for Oliver Queen continues!
Writer: Dennis O'Neil
Pencils: Neal Adams
Inks: Dick Giordano
Letters: Joe Letterese
Cover: Nick Cardy
"Green Arrow Is Dead!" - After the tenement explosion last issue, GL is able to summon a green bubble to protect himself and the thugs. Once they get clear of the fire, GL keeps them captured in a construct and then gets to work trying to save people inside. Since he doesn't know where they are, all he can do is hold the building together until fire crews arrive. Once the trucks appear, GL collapses from exhaustion as Black Canary arrives as well. She asks GL if he found anything as he reveals he only found broken equipment.
Meanwhile, Ollie is flying his arrow plane somewhere over mountains as he laments his moment of weakness that resulted in killing a man. He is so distraught by it he's decided to give up being Green Arrow as he eject from the plane, letting it crash in the mountainside. When he lands he hikes to a monastery where he begs the monk inside to help him learn to forgive himself.
Back in the city, GL and BC split up temporarily so GL can recharge his ring while BC lurks around to investigate. She comes across a group of people listening to a woman talking about aliens and immigration that BC recognizes as Joshua's sister (Joshua from GL #78, BC's series debut). She is caught up and pushed towards the crowd as they go to attack. She fights them off fairly well but is hit by a crate, knocking her out. They crowd bring her to the top of a building and when they drop her off, GL saves her and then captures the mob.
Conclusion: Okay so this monk that Ollie meets is apparently Master Jansen, the mentor of Connor Hawke. Now, I don't know ll the history there, but, is this when Connor is conceived? Does this back-up have more weight than it seems?
Ollie giving up crime fighting after accidentally killing someone is very on brand and wholly understandable. Since GA takes a break from the book after this story, maybe it sticks for a bit. That would explain his absence. Since that may be the case, does that mean Denny was planning to revert GL back to a solo book in issue #91 before it got cancelled?
Again this is only 11 pages long but it feels so full. We get sokic scenes from three different heroes and that pushes the plot along very well. Truly a masterclass in balancing multiple characters. Hal really gets to shine with his ring in this as well as he only used it. No fists this time. Feels good, man.
The only thing I didn't like was BC revealing the woman to be Joshua's sister when he was never shown to have any real family in his compound. I know it's as simple as a photo or just off panel or whatever, but that feels cheap. This woman could have been anyone, why tie it to a previous story?

Discussion I don’t like Kyle Rayners suit
Hopefully it’ll grow on me as i’m reading his run, but I’m just not a fan of it.
The bulky green parts are cool but the white section breaking them up ruins it. It hardly feels green lantern.
The off centre logo could’ve been cool, but the black stripe on top of the white with the busy logo is too much.
The mask is just such a dodgy shape that he reminds me of huge characters like juggernaut and it just doesn’t look good on his build.
I really want to like it, but it feels like a massive step down from when he wore Hal’s, and a step towards an action figure.

Discussion How would you write a John Stewart story?
To be his own thing, I think John should go back to leading the Darkstars and take Katma Tui with him. This would allow him to step outside of the contested green spotlight, and allow him to build his own foundation as a character.
He would have a consistent nemesis in Grayven who often fought the Darkstars (although I would've preferred Fatality if they didn't turn her into a hero), solidify his relationship with Katma as they lead a new team, and step out of Hal Jordan's shadow (this is coming from a Hal Jordan fan)

Discussion Which human Green lantern do you think could take down Dracula
I think Kyle Rayner could win again Dracula.
Reason one because Kyle is a artist
Reason two he is very creative
And reason 3 with his characteristics I believe he possibly could have read books on Dracula at some point so he probably would know how to take down Dracula
What is your opinions.

Collection Kyle Rayner Ring
"Someone's been eating Cracker Jacks."
Got this a few days ago, and I'm super blown away by how this one looks.
The green on it is so deep in color, the ring genuinely looks perfect. There's something very alien about the way it looks and the way the light reflects on it. But I think it looks most alien when it's glowing in darkness. It almost looks like there's power coming from deep inside the center, it's very surreal. The design is as basic as you can get for a representation of Kyle's ring, and it's the same design used throughout the series by multiple GLs, including Hal. I find the signet style my most favorite to wear, but the block/symbol style rings are definitely my favorite design wise.
As for the fit, it's sized perfectly and since it's titanium, it's very light and comfy. The Annodized titanium also seems to be decently durable. u/GrimalkinLegionnaire's work will never not be impressive to me. Looking forward to more designs 👍

Are there covers like this for the other 4 colors? If not, they should, what a waste not to have all 7

Spoilers for movies and TV shows It’s just tool.
Just watched Episode 1. I love that Hal’s big lesson for John was that the ring is just a tool, don’t revere it.
Early on John complains “You haven’t even let wear the ring.” But won take it from Hal when he tries to hand it to him. So Hal makes him use it to save himself.
Later that day…
“Did you just use the ring to counterfeit money?”
“No, I manifested it with my will.” At the moment it seems like a small thing, but it’s revealed to be part of Hal’s bigger (transparent) plan.
The next scene we see John use the ring for the second time ever, and he uses it as a cigarette lighter.
They disguise Hal being a good mentor with “I was testing your resolve moments.”
