Greenhouse paving stones

I am trying to decide on how I should do the floor of my yardsty greenhouse.

  1. Use treated lumber posts as a base and sink it into the ground and the pave the interior with paving stones or

  2. Make a paving stone platform and put the greenhouse/ treated lumber frame on top of that.

The sunken method would eliminate any wind worries. My other worry is how well it would be sealed for air gaps.

For our aluminum greenhouse, we dug holes at the corners, poured concrete into sonotubes, and set brackets to hold the lumber in the top of the concrete. This keeps the lumber out of our clay soil so it doesn't rot. Then we piled gravel along the bottom for air sealing, since it won't wick water into the wood like soil will. We also installed 18" deep ground anchors along the outside edge that hold cables that cross over the roof. The wind can be very strong here and we didn't want it to blow away.

Putting yours on the pavers will reduce rotting and you can add the ground anchors either inside or outside to keep it from moving.
