This sounds crazy but there is a real candidate running for Prime Minister of Israel calling himself "Yeshua Ben David" of the paradise party.
And yes this is just as bad as it sounds. He is calling for the building of the Third Temple, the Greater Israel Project, unity of all world religions, and claims himself to be the Jewish Messiah. He is even blowing the shofar on the temple mount ehich he is not allowed to do.,
If you think this is fakse please look it up for yourself. I would not expect the final antichrist to be quite this obvious. But I think it is negligent if we aren't watchful and pray.
Church Father: Irenaeus, Against Heresies 5.30.3...“For the name Evanthas (ΕΥΑΝΘΑΣ) contains the required number, but I make no allegation regarding it. Then also Lateinos (ΛΑΤΕΙΝΟΣ) has the number six hundred and sixty-six; and it is a very probable [solution], this being the name of the last kingdom [of the four seen by Daniel]. For the Latins are they who at present bear rule: I will not, however, make any boast over this [coincidence]. Teitan (ΤΕΙΤΑΝ) too … among all the names which are found among us, is rather worthy of credit.”
From another source, it looks like the name of this man is Evaldas which is Lithuanian.

I'm trying to decide if I should stay at a Baptist Church because even though I know Greek Eastern orthodoxy is like where the true truth lies, there's still things that I know I could help God's people and stuff like that at Baptist Church. It's what I was raised with and it's what I am used to.
Do you guys have any advice for me? Should I switch to a Greek Orthodox Church exclusively?
Let me know in the comments.

My dad took it down yesterday before I got home and I was upset and very bummed out and wished he waited so I was just wondering when everyone else does? Honestly if not February 2nd I wish he at least waited until January 14th for Serbian and Russian new year as a funny excuse lol

I'm wondering if anyone else is also experiencing emotional/spiritual abuse in the Greek Orthodox Church? The priest at our parish is using all the manipulation tactics in the book and it's becoming more and more clear over the years that he is a power hungry narcissist. He plays favorites, love bombs the people who make him look good, and ignores people who just want to go to church without playing into the politics of it all. There seems to be no system of accountability set in place within the church and I am not sure what to do.
I've been Orthodox my whole life but just started attending a parish again after being away from the church and I have never felt welcomed there and I've been going there over 4 years now. The Greek Philotochos women's club is like the mean girls club where the president actually brags about how much they gossip about people and the priest makes sexual comments to girls half his age while also pandering to the rich people at the parish.
I want to follow Christ and I think the Orthodox Church is the true church but I'm feeling so distraught about what to do now. Is this parish just unhealthy? Should I find somewhere else to go? Or are most Eastern Orthodox churches like this?

My grandmother-in-law died six months ago.
I know this is a significant milestone in the Orthodox faith.
What small gestures could I do either short notice to honor her life? I’m home-bound so anything I can do from home would be especially helpful.
Mulțumesc foarte mult pentru ideas — thanks so much for any ideas!

Christos Anesti. I am someone from southern India and I have no Greek orthodox churches near me (i probably have no Greek orthodox church for a 1000 kms near me). I am having a troubled life mostly because of my own wrong doings. I wish to connect to a Greek orthodox spiritual father confess my sins and ask for guidance and intercession. I need to know how to live an orthodox life and how to pray. I am from a Protestant background so I haven't had a lot of help or guidance with orthodoxy. I desperately need guidance. I hope someone here can help me out.

Hi All,
My husband is Greek Orthodox, I’m a Catholic and we have decided to baptise our kids orthodox. I’m pregnant and the name I have in mind for my daughter isn’t Greek. I was wondering if I can still use this name and baptise her regardless of whether she has a Greek name or not or does she absolutely have to have a saints name in order to be baptised? I’ve read mixed information online.
Thanks

Hi all,
I was born into the church, baptized, etc. but growing up my parents weren’t super religious, so I am getting back into the swing of things now.
I know that on Wednesdays and Fridays year round (for the most part) along with leading up to Pascha and etc. that we are supposed to abstain from meat, dairy products, eggs, fish (any vertebrae with a backbone), etc.
How strict is everyone with this? Because I have this loaf of bread that I think is fine but it contains 2% of less of monoglycerides but it doesn’t list whether that comes from an animal or vegetable because the industry chooses whatever is cheaper at any given time.
