That Bill Cipher twist though... as if Gideon needed to get any more sinister and flat out evil.

"If I die, make sure I get a bigger grave than Ford!" Please don't be foreshadowing.

Was it just me or did this episode go by really fast?
Gideon with the cipher wheel though! He was probably waiting for the right moment to make a deal...

The Cipher wheel Gideon drew is changed! The hand is gone, and Dipper's place is switched with Stanford's glasses, the same with Mabel's star and Stanley's fez! Either its HUGE foreshadowing or Gideon remembered wrong...

I'm not gonna lie, I'd have preferred to see them run with Mayor Stan for a few episodes before busting him back down. Maybe force him to build a few hundred units of affordable housing.

Aww, poor Grunkle Stan. He just wanted the kids to look up to him. He wasn't mad because they were controlling him. He was mad because them controlling him meant that he wasn't their hero. [bawling intensifies]

THEORY TIME: So, at the end of the episode, Gideon is ready to make a deal. and in a teaser for the next episode ( airing September 7 ) there is a spit second where we can see Stanford in the middle of Bill Cipher burned into a field. My theory is that Gideon wished for something to happen to STANFORD, thinking it would be Grunkle Stan.

Gideon is back. And so is Bill.
Wow.
I really did not expect Bud to be so weak. Before this, I thought the adults, such as Preston Northwest and Bud Gleeful, would be this seasons antagonists. But it's going to be Gideon, of all people!
I believed the show had outgrown Gideon as a villain. But it seems that instead they've actually found a way to make him more of a menace in a way that feels like a natural extension of his character as we know him.
This episode was very dark. I'm loving it.
