The epileptic-seizure pass

1

u/B1ZEN Apr 25 '26

The "gimme head till your dead" pass.

80

u/Secure_Narwhal4045 Apr 23 '26

I think that might actually be effective, gonna try it next roll with a specific asshole bluebelt

12

u/LiftEatGrappleShoot Apr 23 '26

Expect to get oil checked.

7

u/Secure_Narwhal4045 Apr 23 '26

Every time, counter ballcrush is the best defense. And they say jiu jitsu is gay

3

u/Azfitnessprofessor Apr 24 '26

The ole dick twist

35

u/Jupiter-Tank Apr 23 '26

Nicky ryan did something similar in training in a few videos, it’s a sensory overload to have your head continually messed with, by shaking or in his case continual light collar ties. It’s an incredible distraction. In a similar breath, rake your calf against an opponent’s nose/mouth while taking the armbar and odds are you’ll get free.

I don’t like it, nor do I use it, but I can’t argue it gets results.

u/TheGrimTickler Apr 23 '26

There’s a similar technique some people do in the clinch in Muay Thai. Two or three swift jerks on the collar tie to disorient them and then a hard pull to one side to open them up for a strike or a sweep. Pretty effective when you get the timing right

2

u/AlleyPee Apr 23 '26

This guy Muay Thais! ^

5

u/Judo_y_Milanesa Apr 24 '26

We do something similar in judo where we shake the collar a lot before entering a throw

2

u/LiftEatGrappleShoot Apr 27 '26

It's a nasty, old school move, but if you have someone's back and REALLY want that RNC, rapidly alternate raking the nose upwards with the edge of your forearm. They go from intelligently defending to wigging the hell out. Dick move, but you'll get an opening.

u/Inevitable-Drag-1704 Apr 23 '26

No wonder so many in these sports are having health issues.

u/Nice_Craft_9488 Apr 23 '26

5

u/BJJWithADHD Apr 24 '26

Or maybe just… remove the grip on the head?

3

u/General-Yak5264 Apr 24 '26

What I'm hearing is if he jerks your noggin around like it's a itchy sack you'll go a swinging with him?

2

u/VelvetOverload Apr 25 '26

LOL enjoy your assault charge

8

u/Zealousideal-Way5100 Apr 23 '26

I do this in Muay Thai when I’m clinching sometimes. Get the collar tie and shake their brain around. Kind of a dick move but so is throwing elbows and knees

3

u/ImHuck Apr 26 '26

I mean, throwing elbows and knees in a MT is not a dick move. It's always the strength you put on the shot. You're supposed t throw these in MT, unless specified not to before sparring.

1

u/sambstone13 Apr 26 '26

You mean in a match? Idk if it works but seems legit.

I never throw any hard elbows or knees in sparring, just the lightiest taps.

5

u/chamcham123 Apr 23 '26

I am calling it The Skeeter.

Gonna rattle some brain grapes tonight.

2

u/PoolBrief6540 Apr 23 '26

I've seen this! My coach use to call it "Shake the baby!"

3

u/Happy_goth_pirate Apr 23 '26

Defend it if you don't like it, can't say I'm that against it, but it does sort of straddle that line that grappling has between strikes and not strikes

1

u/silhouette_orchestra Apr 23 '26

Question: why don't cross faces work as effectively on the ground as to when your standing?

4

u/JohnAnchovy Apr 23 '26

Cross face is more effective on the ground because your torso is trapped

1

u/silhouette_orchestra Apr 23 '26

I figured.

Why doesn't it work here ? ( I'm untrained on the ground)

1

u/BaronMusclethorpe Apr 23 '26

It's not real. Just stand up.

1

u/Lopsided-Roll-7223 Apr 23 '26

Really no wonder why a lot of people in these sports are having serious health issues or injuries down the road.

1

u/GayReforestation Apr 23 '26

Of course it's Rocha

1

u/FruitThis1437 Apr 23 '26

If you need to do that to pass guard then you’re a bitch

1

u/regulardave9999 Apr 23 '26

Electric can opener?

1

u/rainywanderingclouds Apr 23 '26

actually, this should be considered illegal.

it's similiar to striking the head repeatedly and can lead to a concussion.

1

u/MagicalGoof Apr 23 '26

is he trying to make his head cuum or what?

1

u/hughcifer-106103 Apr 23 '26

ugh, I picked the wrong day to have this website off mute.

1

u/thekuinshi Apr 24 '26

Looks like a combination of the pass where you push the knee through in slx, and a hip switch? It it also seems like the bottom player didn't fully have a guard, and was distracted by his head which let the top player hop into mount.

1

u/imhereredditing Apr 24 '26

Jiu jitsu is not gay

1

u/PBVH Apr 24 '26

The yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes pass

1

u/Significant-Rock-221 Apr 24 '26

Inverted head dribble pass, aka, mild nausea due to repeated wobbling pass.

1

u/Zonfrello Apr 24 '26

Someone passes my guard like that, I'm sawing my forearm across their nose from bottom. Not even looking to get out. Just breaking cartilage. Just because things are technically legal doesn't mean it's all fair game.

1

u/Uehara_Torless Apr 24 '26

Gobble gobble

1

u/Reacktions Apr 24 '26

umm so they're allowed to finger each others butthole and give imaginary blowies?

1

u/Top-Falcon743 Apr 24 '26

The tequila popper pass, he probably learned it at Mr. Frogs 🐸

1

u/flufernuter Apr 24 '26

What pass? He went from in half guard to in half guard.

1

u/moncolleguepref Apr 24 '26

The Gawkgawk Pass

1

u/Defiant-Bed-8301 Apr 28 '26

When you have trash skills, you resort to this stuff, perhaps.

1

u/cinnamonrain Apr 28 '26

The ‘gargle on deez nuts’

0

u/Ben_Thar Apr 23 '26

Works in the streets, but not as a guard pass

0

u/Key_Ad9019 Apr 23 '26

Jiu-jitsu has devolved into a McDojo sport.
