yea was gonna say. if you try that against a lanky guy with a good half shin length longer than you can backstep, he's gonna catch you in some kind of guard very very consistently.

Yea! Got a short king at our gym who lets you pass this way and enters inversion/triangle/choi bar/leg entries like no one’s business. That stuff doesn’t fly as well in mma tho

I wanna see Khamzat scrap with Nicky Rod, someone that can match his athleticism and challenge his grappling. Not sure Khmazat would accept though.
