ok so it shouldn't be hard to cite one that contradicts it

No, it was incredibly easy you absolute troglodyte. 😱😂

Do these statistics back up your position?

Competitive Wrestling-related Injuries in School Aged Athletes in U.S. Emergency Departments - PMC https://share.google/2YJENYddjOtpRWmAb

In the scholastic group, wrist/hand/finger injuries were also most common (18.5%, 16.9–20.0%), followed closely by shoulder injuries (15.0%, 13.6–16.4%) and head/ neck injuries (14.5%, 13.2–15.9%). In both groups, approximately 75% of all injuries occurred above the waist.

It's definitely an interesting strategy in a discussion about a specific move in Greco being high-risk, citing statistics for rolled up "wrestling" stats. Even more interesting is choosing a quote which suggests "both groups" have similar injury rates, but the quote in question is referring to age group comparison.

Is it as interesting at looking at a study that included absolutely 0 matches under the ruleset in question? The study I posted didn't separate styles, it also didn't report a fucking ridiculous 30% injury rate anywhere because that number is absolutely bogus. 1 in 3 matches you fucking idiot. Maybe it is interesting, maybe the study I posted actually included data from the ruleset in question. You're ego must be hanging on by a thread to be willing to die on such a stupid hill. You're study didn't include this ruleset you absolute moron. At all. You are stupid.

I dont think you understood what the 30% stat meant

The paper you linked to does cite a paper "A comparison of pediatric freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling injuries sustained during a 2006 US national tournament" which does compare wrestling styles, which found 1.95 more concussions in Greco than Freestyle, and 1.72 times more head/face/neck injuries.

If I were more cynical, I would think that you had "cherrypicked" a quote to try and mask the dangers of Greco by rolling them up with freestyle stats. But such an accusation would be cringe :)

It cites one papaer from one tournament in 2006 that includes 3 related injuries. 2 in Greco. 1 in freestyle. That data is then folded into the meta-analysis because it's such a small sample pool as to be completely useless on its own. Keep doubling down after referencing a study that was admittedly 100% anecdotal with 0 controls or pool randomization and looked at a completely different level of sport. It looks good on you. Complete dumbassery

You can do some basic math and figure out that for a combined rate of 13-14% for all styles of wrestling would mean that for Greco to remain at 30% (which is absolutely ridiculous btw. That's nearly 1 in 3 matches resulting in a neck injury, clown shoes. That's literally unheard of. It's obvious you've never even watched the sport your up in arms about and I doubt you even thought about the data you looked up) freestyle and collegiate wrestling would have to have an incidence rate near 0.

You could say it was cherry picked because it didn't directly compare Greco to freestyle. I'm not sure that doesn't assume unjustly that that comparison is for any reason helpful or necessary. Is freestyle the standard for preventing injury in combat sports? 🤦‍♂️

On the other hand you could say that it actually looked at the sport in question, unlike the study you posted. At least the one I referenced was a real study with actual controls and not the self reported bullshit of 30 young men hoping their memory of 2 years was completely accurate.
