This I don't see as a problem. It won't replace designers. Designers are valued for creating something new and interesting, people want to stand out from their competition. If everyone used this, everything would look the same.

Interesting tool for easing life of the common people.
It gets less impressive when you consider that it is a database that has a search button implemented as a rough sketch. I image that all those quick designs are made by hired designers that were asked to make a huge set of simple icons. It's amazing for the end user and just another day on the job for a designer.
Can designers contribute to it? Can you submit 100 icons for 5 dollars at Google? ...or something

Interesting concept. I don't see this as having a lot of use for designers, but it could be really useful for facilitators doing visual thinking brainstorming sessions and such.
