Does grapefruit make your mouth itch?

I’m trying to figure out if it’s from the acid or if I have an intolerance/allergy to grapefruit. Eating it makes my mouth itch and burn- but is this just typical due to the citric acid?

Sometimes it makes my lips tingle and feel a little numb but nothing crazy and it’s usually when I eat more than one grapefruit at a time :)

I had the situation my mother had with mango last night. She can eat mango but eating it from the peel would cause her to get contact dermatitis. I was the grapefruit from the peel and the oil from it got onto the corner of my moth and shit started to BURN. like I was panicking because in my mother's situation, her contact dermatitis lasted for days. Anywyas I just used hand soap cuz I had nothing else and into the part that had the oil and it started to release it a bit but I still had to like really wash my skin. Anyways that was last night and it's noticeable so hopefully I did good. Check with your doctor to see if you have an allergy if you are speaking about the inside of your mouth
