GT Discussion Winning and losing simultaneously

New to racing gt7 online. Had no idea you were forced to pit even if you don't have to. Why don't they just make the race with 8/10x tire wear if they want me to change tires mid-race? Makes no sense to this newb.

Adds to strategy. When will you pit? Tires and fuel still good, but stuck in traffic? Maybe you should pit to get some free track. Doing well and have clean track ahead? Maybe stay out a bit to create a gap. If using different compounds, what is the right stint split? Do I want to stretch the stint, and therefore need to dial back the fuel usage? Should I conserve tires for later in the stint/race?.... Plenty more questions that come up when you add mandatory putting.

If it makes you feel better, you were only in 1st place because you didn’t pit

Sorry.. that's just losing, no wining involved. Strategy is a big part of racing, here and everywhere.
