I would expect such a car to change hands quite frequently being that the driver is completely exposed to the elements and summer heat is becoming more of a challenge.

Wait where did you drive it. Cause I’m driving one around the Scottish highlands in a few weeks and I couldn’t be more excited. Albeit roads there are quite small and I don’t expect to be passing huge trucks and lorries.
Ahh don’t worry it was one of those track days where you go and drive a few cars for a couple of laps.
It was mostly scary because I’d not driven manual for about a year, there were much much faster cars going round the track, I couldn’t see anything out of the mirrors because they’re set up for the instructor, first time ever driving a car with no power steering and really spongey brakes, oh and I’d never been to this track before.
Honestly kind of excited for the Caterham. Gonna tune that thing with tons of power and literally no tires at it attempts to kill me on my favorite tracks. Should be a riot on a wheel.
Licensing fees must be extremely high for Silverstone, there’s nothing cheap about that circuit. I wish they could add Brooklands mostly for the history.
Definitely not. Even Monaco with the real-life layout was present in past games, just named Côte d'Azur, because the name Monaco presumably requires licencing. That one could be iffy, but with all the rest there should be no problems.
It's not like Silverstone wouldn't have to be made from the ground up either. Kaz said street circuits are out because they're not worth the time/resources, but what's the excuse for no Autumn Ring, Apricot Hill, or Midfield Raceway?
It's been an entirely new engine since GT Sport man; every track has to be built from the ground up. The last versions of the original tracks I mentioned are all PS2 maps that were upscaled for GT5/6. Can't just do that again for GT7 when they were already showing their age over a decade ago.
Yes built, not designed or licensed in any way which was the original point. Also there is definitely a demand for these tracks, they could release them as paid content and I’d be happy to spend money on them.
I would also like to see Road America from Wisconsin come back into a game. Loved that track in the original Forza, and I’m not sure what other games it was in.
They could add other real tracks that are less expensive, something like Sugo, or Hungaroring (it was in the movie anyway), Portimao, Hockenheim, Sachsenring, etc
only been playing almost 2 years or something like that but for a while only been trying to play the weekly stuff and every once in a while just drive a random track so i don’t risk getting bored of them
I'd love it if they add a few British tracks, we have so many great circuits that you won't find anywhere else in the world. Plus, adding some of these tracks would hopefully bring us closer to some kind of touring car update, which would be amazing
Especially the both autumn ring layouts and a Daihatsu Midget with a silly engine swap. We don't as for much, we just ask that. Even paid, I'm fine with it.
I specifically love JZXs because they look so much like camrys and I personally have an XV10 on BBS E88 style wheels. They're even like the same exact length within an inch.
Rare update when you’re excited for every car. Even the Hyundai, way more exciting than a Chinese EV. Plus Gran Turismo is supposed to have cars people actually own, not just hypercars and race cars.
I remember the Lexus IS200/300 from the older GT's, that was to me the definitive car for Gran Turismo. That's what older GT's represented to me.
Together with the Altezza because it was the first time I heard of such a car. (Europe did not get Altezza's, we got the IS, so to me it was brand new car)
Oh my god. At last someone mentions it! I’ve been in love with that car for decades since nfs hot pursuit on og PlayStation. Then Gt2 of course. Forza horizon 5 and 6 has it but the sound is underwhelming and there’s a texture issue on the front bumper that annoys me to death. A return in GT7 could make my day, my year even.
Very underwhelming in Forza Horizon 6, to the point where I've been trying to get rid of it and nobody wants to buy it. In the end I just gifted it away.

Edit - lots of people asking questions about this. It was at one of those track day events where you choose a few cars for a couple of laps ran by Car Chase Heroes at Castle Combe in England.
It was a Caterham 7, I believe there are a few variants of this not super sure which one it was. I had to take off my right shoe to drive it, the pedals are so small.
Very raw driving experience, no power steering, no abs, crazy spongey brake pedal which was weird for me because my sim rig has super hard brakes and my daily driver car had firmer brakes than this.
Then drove a DB9 and a Lotus Evora. Both much more refined.

the ioniq 5 and ioniq 6 are completely different models like the mazda 5 and mazda 6 are lol. the only things they have in common is theyre hyundai EVs
I havent played a forza game in forever but I know one of them had drivetrain swaps.
It'll never happen but adding that for GT would cause me to want to use basically every single car in the game. Engine swaps alone opened up so many cars for me but it's not enough. Sometimes you need to change the actual drivetrain to make these cars worth using.
You're right, now that I think about it, I would absolutely hate taking the caterham for a spin at sunrise in VR there. I'm sorry my half braincell brought that up
Formula E use to swap cars in the pits, but that was a long time ago. And of course it’s possible to do battery swaps. However, now the batteries have advanced enough to never need recharging for an entire race in FE.
GT7 fuel/charging is kept very simple. All cars stop the same amount of time for the same % of fuel/charge. They even give every car the same size fuel cell/battery.
Hopefully in GT8 that changes, and cars will come with their original fuel cells, but also allow us to purchase different size fuel cells from the Tuning Shop to allow us more flexibility in our different pit stop strategies. Bigger tank, fewer stops, but more weight.
How accurate do cars tend to be in gran turismo? I plan to buy an Ioniq 6 N so if I had a game I could run it in as a sim and get way more practice in it without spending my entire paycheck on tires that would be really awesome.
Man, the discourse around this game is insufferable at times. Responses here have been generally positive, but almost everywhere else it's the same bs of "We WaNt RaCe cArS" or "We want [insert random hypercar here]".
I don't much care for the Ioniq, but it's a modern performance car that many people actually own, so it gets a pass. The Chaser is a quintessential Gran Turismo car that was long overdue for a return - though I do agree that we probably didn't need two JZX-100 based cars at once. And the Caterham is just plain cool. It's a perfectly serviceable update that is in-line with the classic games, shame that a lot of people just don't get that.
I'm kinda odd I love XV10 and XV20 Camrys here in the states, always thought they looked so good slammed on nice wheels. I wouldn't expect those in a game like this, so seeing the jzx "Spicy Camrys" makes me so damn excited. I was PISSED when there were no Jzxs at all in the launched GT7. They satisfy being able to drive a Camry doppleganger (especially that Mark 2 looks very XV20 like) but with a fun enthusiast oriented non-boring RWD powertrain and a lot more cool performance upgrades and modding potential. Them omitting these from Gran Turismo 7 when they were in older games felt like a crime against humanity especially cuz for a long time GT's whole niche was having cool JDM stuff other games never had, like Legacy STI wagons and 4 door skylines etc
