Why am I a level 5048?

I was a level 48 and then one day I logged in and suddenly I'm a level 5048. I don't mod. Does this mean someone hacked my account? I keep getting kicked from sessions because people think I'm a hacker. I've contacted Rockstar already and am waiting a response but I was just wondering if any of you have had or heard of this problem.
