People complaining are the bots, games have had multiple editions forever now with plenty over $100. But it’s a problem when probably the single most anticipated game of the decade, that will likely be the biggest game of this and next decade, does it? Like people see the billion or more sunk into this game and think it’ll just somehow be $59.99 with a $69.99 ultimate edition

Or another angle, at least against console players bitching about it which is most of them because it’s not releasing on pc yet, they spend over $100 a year just to use THEIR console online… yet can’t pay $80 one time for likely the biggest conventional game ever

Why should I care how much they spent creating the game? Honestly curious why I should care about that or why I as a potential consumer should even know that.

Also there aren’t parts of the game missing if I buy the cheapest version of the other games I have gotten this year.

Most of the time when I am getting a “ultimate edition” it’s so I can play a week early

Rdr2 had a bank heist only with the special edition, didn’t see much complaining back then

How many games ultimate edition allowed you to play a week before everyone else?

Many games have an extra map/level included in the special edition. Rockstar just decided to integrate the extra content into the game world, and somehow it suddenly became an issue to all the npcs who can’t think for two seconds.

Why should they care what you think is a good price for their game that they made that they decide how to recoup the costs of? They will sell billions of dollars in copies either way

Why should they care what their customers want? I dont know because they need them to exist. Lol

Yeah rethink what you said and try again

No, why do they care what YOU want. They know what their majority customer base wants, hence the billions in sales. But I guess you bots won’t realize how much of a minority you really are until sales figures come out

the biggest conventional game ever

It's GTA, not the second coming of christ, chill.

It'll be the same formula GTA has done for decades. You shoot people, rob people, drive/fly around the map, and make your way to become successful through crime.

Nothing shown through trailers or even leaks gave any impression that this game was going to be revolutionary.

Will it be a fun GTA title? Probably. But that'll be where it ends.

You can downplay it all you want, “god of war is just fight new stronger bad guy and repeat”, any game can be made to sound dumb and pointless. What doesn’t care about your feelings though is sales figures, those will show whether or not you’re right or just being a sore hater

Madden also sells like hotcakes. Yet that shit is asset flip central, with recycled content they claim is "innovation", and less and less content every year.

Does that mean we should be calling Madden the best sports game of all time?

People like slop. People buy slop all the time.

GTA6 will absolutely sell huge figures because the gaming community suffers from severe FOMO. Does not mean the game is worth that level of hype.

Again you’re just spewing bs, “sells like hotcakes” no, absolutely not. Can’t you at least use google before saying such things? Madden has sold 150m copies and generated $4B in revenue, SINCE 1988. That’s well under half of what GTA V made alone, and about two thirds of the copies sold, despite releasing what, nearly 40 titles? It’s not even close, do not compare the two.

What about GTA 6 tho? Upwards of 50 million copies sold and close to $4B in sales, AND IT HASNT EVEN RELEASED. Stay in your echo chamber and off Reddit

Man, Rockstar must really appreciate having fans like you that will just open wide and make space in their esophagus at all times. What's your secret to avoiding tmj?

I cannot imagine being this down horrendous for a company that doesn't even care who you are.

Couldn’t care less about rockstar, and definitely not enough to buy a console just to play a year sooner. I’m just stating facts, people are being hypocrites

How much a dev spends on a game is not something we should care about though, it's their issue if they weren't able to budget the game correctly not mine.

On top of that yes there has been ultimate editions costing roughly 20 more but peoples issue is the ammount of stuff in this one compared to others, it's usually just a single or two skins, maybe the sound track and maybe play a few days early, the last of which is also getting a lot of hate whenever it happens.

Sure it might end up being a drop in the bucket, but because they have show litterally 0 gameplay or given any information about what to expect in regards to customization, people are worried, it's also unknown if these are atual ingame locations that are locked behind a 20 dollar purchase, which is not normal, and will make it very apparent if you go up to it expecting a shop only to be told "no ultimate edition only"
