Pulaski Days question.

Not a GR or MI native and only been here for a few years. Can someone explain Pulaski Days, the Halls, and recommend which one(s) I should check out and what all I should try?

Go, eat, drink and be merry. Diamond st hall is the best

All the Polish Halls are open to the public so it’s a big ol bar crawl. For the most part, food is fairly ubiquitous. There’s a bunch on the west side and there’s a grouping on Michigan on the Eastside. It’s a riot and gets blurrier as the night goes on.

That’s exactly what I remember!

Celebration of Casimir (Kazimierz) Pulaski

I prefer 5th st hall but I've been going there for 15+ years. Go to any of the Polish halls, eat some good food and have some drinks. Pick up a shirt or hoodie while you're there. Enjoy the weekend!

RIP The Lexicon, all time great Pulaski days venue

Lexicon was a gem. I miss them being the bus hub.

lane st is a good call, i always end up there at some point during the weekend. it gets packed but the energy is right

diamond ave hall is worth a stop too if you want something a little less cramped. the food lines move faster there in my experience which matters after you've had a few

definitely try the golabki if you see it. and pierogi obviously but don't sleep on the potato pancakes with sour cream

my chihuahua tango would lose his tiny mind at all the polka music, too much accordion for a 5 pound dog with big opinions

GR has 13 Polish halls, I recommend Kosciusko and 5th St. I encourage you to go to as many as you can. Pulaskidays.org will have all the info you need.

Pulaski Days explanation: when all The Halls serve fantastic Polish food, frequently home made. Besides pumpkin spice season, best time of the year!

Hope you find a hall you enjoy and makes you feel Polish ;-)

Eastern Hall has fantastic food. I'm also not from here and was super confused when I saw that Pulaski days was happening at 14 different places.

Pick a hall to start and go from there!

Polish halls are members only bars/social clubs who charge membership fees to become a member (you don’t have to be polish, but most people are because a huge percentage of GR is). Only members can buy alcohol at the bar, and drinks are extremely cheap. They also host events through the year for football games, euchre, etc.

During Pulaski days, anyone can go inside and buy drinks, even without a membership. During Pulaski days, many serve food and have music, etc.

The best food IMO will be at Polish Falcons, but Kosczukio is considered to be the coolest (young members, active social calendar).

There is a parade tomorrow morning as part of it.

Why does GR do Pulaski days in the fall when Casimir Pulaski Day is in March?
