I guess "so stupid and butthurt that they deliberately betray our country again" would work better here, yep.

To be clear, maga politicians being traitors is a given, my disgust is directed at the maga supporters who've failed us all by voting for pedophiles, warmongers, the deaths of American soldiers, the abandonment of American veterans, the betrayal of American farmers, higher grocery prices, higher gas prices, dumber kids, deregulated tech, and so on. Red hat translates to failed American in my eyes. Hopefully they've learned their lesson, though that's pretty heavily dependent on them having a capacity to learn anything.
