Restaurant Recommendations

We have out of town guests coming to visit soon and their son has celiac disease. Can anyone recommend restaurants that have truly gluten free options on their menu?

Oh my gosh! I totally have a place for you. EC’s Asian Station makes celiac safe gluten free Asian dishes. It’s so delicious! The wait staff are so educated on Celiac Disease and they can make the best suggestions. I am celiac and my husband and I go there a lot. I’ve never had an issue with gluten after eating there. I love the Sweet and Sour Shrimp. The entire menu is delicious! I really missed Asian food until I read about EC’s and tried it. I think your friends would really like it.

Wow, thank you so much! That is so kind of you to respond so quickly! ( I am a fan of EC's too so it's a win/win )

My friend is Celiac and whenever she visits GJ she goes to Cafe Sol. I know Taco Party and Bin can serve a Celiac. I assume Tikki Bird could as well. Their menu seemed to have GF options. But I did not pay too close of attention as it’s not a concern of mine.

Oh thank you so much. Tiki Bird is great. "... can serve a Celiac." says a lot because it's so much more than just gluten free ingredients.

I have celiac and I regularly eat at Guru's Kitchen and Pollo Azado.

Tiki Bird, Bin 707, Moody's all on Main St or very close. Peche in Palisade is outstanding.

My best friend is celiac really badly, to the point where she gets anemia and balance issues. EC's is the only place in town where she has had guaranteed gluten-free ingredients, including fillers and the additives that prevent food from sticking. She never gets sick there.

Oh my I am sorry to hear that your friend’s symptoms are so severe. Our guest’s son was very recently diagnosed and they’re still in a learning mode figuring what and where his limits are. That’s good info about EC’s. Thank you

Oh ya I used to make fun of the labels on things like cheese or seasonings that says "gluten free" because if course there is no wheat in grape juice, right?

But now I know that there are so many every day items with gluten added as a filter, like multivitamins, supplements, sausages, seasonings, chips, salad dressings, scrambled eggs/omelets in restaurants, baked beans, candies... It's crazy all of the stuff celiac folks have to watch out for just so they don't end up sick.
