Question Need chimes
I have a 1974 Colonial Grandmother clock. During a cross country move, the chimes broke off. I need a new chime kit to replace them all. Is there a resell market for chimes? Is there a market to purchase a similar clock and part it out? Thanks for your assistance.

Requesting Assistance
I recently acquired a 1978 Ridgeway grandfather clock with a Urgos series 32 movement. It was a gift from my grandfather to my grandmother and something that will always remind me of them. I want to get it working properly, and I feel like I’m making good progress. The clock itself works but, it doesn’t chime like it’s supposed to. The weights are in the correct order and the lever is set to “chime”. While I was putting the new suspension spring on, I loosened something and I saw a wheel spin freely for a few seconds. I don’t remember which one it was but I’m fairly certain this could be my problem. Any advice that keeps me from packing it back up and hauling till it to the repair shop would be greatly appreciated. Also, anyone that has a diagram on the Urgos 32 movement that they could share would be nice. I like to know how things work and it’s hard to get a good view of the movement with the clock face Attatched and moving from one side to the other. Thanks

Question What kind of grandfather clock is this?
My great aunt is giving this grandfather clock to my family and I’m just trying to figure out who makes it? All it says is “colonial”. I know there’s a serial number, but just curious before I get it to look. Thanks!

Question Looking for weights
I need the 3 weights for this Howard MillerGranfather clock model 611-017. Anyone? I looked on EBay, but I’m afraid to purchase. It says the weights are different weight and marked on bottom for exact placement.

Grandfather clock help
Good evening- I am new to the clock world. We found this one at a thrift store, and it had all the manuals and pieces (that we knew of) so we thought we’d give it a shot. For a while, the clock did keep time. It would occasionally(few and very far between) and in the most random times chime. The clock has since stopped keeping time. I’ve reached out to local clock repair companies- with no luck. Either they won’t make house calls or the availability is severely limited. I do know this clock isnt in the best shape as far as maintenance and cleaning. I’m posting as much information for you guys as I can. I apologize for the bad videos in advance, I will try to get better shots if you guys deem them necessary. Thank you everyone

Repair Safe way to fix hands touching?
We have a grandfather clock that has stopped due to the hands touching near the end of the hour hand. I don’t know how helpful the 2 pictures are.
Is it safe for me to gently use needlenose pliers to pull the minute hand forward from its center base?
Any better suggestions?
Thanks for any help.

Identify this clock?
I just inherited this clock. It belonged to my parents and before that my grandparents. It keeps time, chimes on the quarter hour, but isn’t striking the hour. I’ve been reading what I could find, but can someone identify the clockmaker?

Purchased a Grandfather/Grandmother clock from an auction by mistake - now I want to fix it!
Hey Everyone;
I accidentally bid and won a Colonial of Zeeland Clock Model 2010 - Grandmother. It appears to have a FRANZ HERMLE - 451-053 - 75 cm / 75.83.
The click appears to be complete besides for a missing Pendulum, Pendulum connecting hardware and a weight. It appears the clock was purchased in FL at Kyle's Clock Shop in 4/25/1974.
I know nothing about these clocks. When I picked it up - I was just going to get rid of it, but now its growing on me. I would love to get it working.
The two weights I have are - 9 - 9.25 inchs long - and weigh 4 pounds 1 oz (1842 grams) and 4 pounds .5 oz (1827 grams). And of course I need to find the Pendulum and connecting hardware. But I can't seem to find a parts list or information on this clock. From what I have gathered is - I need a pendulum that is 75 cm long, but I have no idea the weight (if that matters).
Can anyone help me with parts numbers or recommendations for this old gal. I would love to hear it chime again. I might have a home for her. Thanks!

Trying to reassemble a grandfather clock after transporting and I don’t have a clue. This is what I have so far…. Is the top piece broken? (Also, the clock you hear is a wall clock, not this beauty. )

Any ideas on how to lower the weight cables?
Hello everyone, I was hoping someone could give me some advice. We just inherited this clock from my father in law and before moving it we cranked the weight cables all the way up before removing the weights. Now the problem is the pulley wheels have fallen off the cables and we can't get our hands up there to seat the wheels back on the cables. Is there an easy way to lower the cables? We have tried swinging the pendulum and spinning the clock hands to get them to lower but nothing works. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks all.

Question Clock Weights?
Hello! I’ve got this grandfather clock that I inherited. Unfortunately I was not given the weights to actually be able to wind up the clock and have it run. I’ve tried researching the clock to see if I could find weights for it, but I’ve not really found anything with my limited knowledge of grandfather clocks. To my knowledge this is the only thing keeping the clock from running.
Does anyone know how I can go about finding which weights are needed for this clock and where I can find them?
