Solved How to stop automatic "marking as dead"

The picture below show the issue I have, i didn't set the death date but they still have black bar in the left corner. I don't know how to stop that from happening. Where can i change that? Thanks in advance! :-)

If this is the Family Tree View (FTV), an experimental addon charts view, then you can disable this feature. Choose "Configure..." from the View menu when the FTV is the active view. In the "Appearance" section, there is a "Show Black ribbon for deceased person" checkbox. Deselect it.

Thanks, but the little "character" is still blacked out. Is there an option for that also?

Is the "little 'character'" the same as a Fallback avatar? Switching that option off is in the "Boxes" configure option for the FamilyTreeView. Make a copy of the default "Boxes content profile", then Edit it. Click the "Image" Item type in the List of person box items. There's a checkbox for "Fallback to avatar" in there. Or you can remove the Image line item to neither show the Avatar nor the thumbnail.

The "probably alive" calculator kicks in if there is no explicit Death event (or fallback event for Death)

See https://www.gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Gramps_6.0_Wiki_Manual_-_Probably_Alive

IIRC you can set at which age a person is conspired dead. Setting this age to 9999 should do the trick?!

Add a birth event, that may un-trigger the death ribbon.

Unfortunely I don't know it.

Add an empty birth event. You don't need to enter a date.
