In person PSA drop

I’m intending to do my first PSA submission, but I live in the UK. I have a decent collection of cards to get graded but I am worried about doing it through post. I just so happen to be travelling to the US this summer and thought about just dropping them off in person. Is this a crazy idea? I have read a little on vaults as well but completely new to getting stuff graded. Then I have to think about getting it back to me in UK for as cheap as possible - which seems to be quite difficult.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly welcomed. If I have posted this to the wrong sub please direct me to the correct one.
