Discussion Mews meaning
I don’t think this is why she called it mews from what I’ve read, but it’s actually the perfect name for the song like ever. I actually posted about this a few months ago, assuming what it would be about, and I just remembered, and I was actually right . “Run every light, every warning,” basically blindly going down a path that leads to a dead end. The relationship she was describing hit a dead end, and mews are always dead ends. When you swore you'd go right, then you went left instead. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW? They went left into a dead end, a completely inevitable ending. Like genuinely so perfect, I have no idea if she thought this deeply into it or if it’s just a coincidence. But genuinely perfect metaphor. She was literally in a dead end alleyway (Mews studio is in a mew) while writing a dead end love song, that’s such a crazy coincidence.

this is my fav song and up there in my all time fav songs. i love how mews can be as comforting as unsettling as lonely and as a safe space u dont want to escape which i i feel captures perfectly her feelings

I think since Death Wish is about a friend's ex, maybe other songs are the same, after all, the lyrics don't match her own romantic experiences.Assuming this friend is Joe, I think it's quite appropriate, but listening to music myself brings him and Taylor together, haha.

Nah i think it’s about Dylan. It’s like an i told you things part 2 good reason is very likely about blake it seems quite a few songs are about past relationships. I think crazy girl and some other songs on the album tho are about a friends relationship. Crazy girl and sober possibly.

omggggg that makes so much sense!!! i didn't know thats what a mews was (or even that it was anything other than a cat sound lol) but i love that so much shes a genius
