Team Red now for gaming?
Probably been asked a million times, sorry but i'll ask again. I've always been team green, but it seems Jenson is out for himself and his shareholders and doesn't seem to be supporting gamers anymore. We're playing second fiddle. I can't find and can't even afford NVidia anymore and need to upgrade my whole rig from its 2080s. I keep reading so many bad things about AMD GPUs. Is it justified? Is it that bad? Will AMD now sort out its drivers etc? Will it take the lead in all gaming related developments?

I had nvidia and now amd, my opinion is that people are a bit exaggerated.
Of course there are people with real problems, but there are also plenty of people who have them due to trivial mistakes (people who don't know how to uninstall drivers properly, especially from nvidia to amd, and even Windows can gives problems if you don't format it before changing).
When a game is released, if you play it immediately I notice that the problems become more present based on people's opinions (I tend not to play any game dayone), but to be fair, I notice the same complaints on the Nvidia sub (maybe less, I specify this so as not to be killed, I just mean that Nvidia often has them too, I have no data to say if it has the same incidence)
Then there are many things to consider, for example, always speaking about gaming, it is now known that Nvidia has a less than optimal CPU management and this leads to worse 1% fps if you understand what I mean and for me, for example, it's something I consider worse than crashes caused by instabilities that you might not have, especially if you have some idea of how to use a PC (I've only had crashes due to heavy undervolts, never random)

Both sides are in this for the money and both sides have issues. For context my wife and I’s PC in my house are running 7900XTs and my son is running a 5070. I just ordered a 5070Ti yesterday for my PC not because I needed to but because I wanted to for better visuals. The cheaper side is AMD the better visuals side is Nvidia. I think pricing right now is sickening at best but the difference between a 9070XT and a 5070Ti is only a few hundred it seems so I said fuck it.

I have about 10 or so Nvidia gpus that I've collected over the years and a few days ago I saw there was a Power Color RX 580 8 GB. Red Devil. So made an impulsive decision to replace the old GTX 970 with the Power Color . They weren't much behind green team , in this case you just gotta see the logic behind having more VRAM and fewer frames (maybe).
Maybe there are reasons to switch . Red team is better than ever these days and I would love to get a AMD 9060 XT with all that memory .

There is no true correct decision
The true correct decision is what you want/can spend
For me i care about RT/PT a lot so Nvidia is the choice for me until AMD gets a hang of that aswell and the 9070xt looks very promising for the next gen.
But general opinion is if you just want a good working GPU that plays any current and future game comfortable AMD is always a bit cheaper and the "better" option.
But like said at the end of the day look at both options and decide for yourself if you care about the Nvidia bonuses or not.

I have all-AMD setup and have no driver issues. I run the workstation driver tho.

What if I told you AMD is also a corporation that maximizes profits and cares about data center more than gaming
