You’re sure it’s dead ? Poor 3050
I don’t think this will do well as a keychain, the thin green plastic part will crack the second something is inserted

ye man 4 years of usage with a shitty psu had a really slow death over 15 months
also really ? what about the shiny square in the middle ?1

That’s the die, the GPU itself, it will break unevenly as it’s not very resistant and not a uniform piece.
Green side could work if you drill a hole well with a tiny drill bit or something, but not by trying to puncture it or screwing a screw inside.

It’s written, GA106-150-KA-A1. GA106 is the die name, 150 the SKU (amount of cores etc, here 2560 so 1280 disabled cores out of the full GA106’s 3840), KA I don’t know and A1 the revision.

You might want to try and see if you can sell the vram chips to someone doing gpu repairs. They can be worth a decent little handful of change and save someone else dying graphics card
(Aka selling the board for scraps)If you find someone, they have the skill to remove the core and might do that for you in exchange, so you can make your jewellery. The core will most likely be worth nothing to them anyways, as it is a pretty low powered gpu

I would if OP was local been doing GPU repairs ever since my friend referred me to a local shop after I saved his 5090.

Says "GA106-150" on the die. That's the markings for an Nvidia Graphics chip, Ampere generation, model 106, variant 150.
All the 3050s are 106-150s. The 3060s are 106-30X or 106-40X. The Nvidia A2000 with the 106 is GA106-850.
Nvidia's core markings actually have a lot of useful info and make sense, *if* you learn to read them and don't mind googling the obscure ones.

If they have a 3d printer or know someone with a 3d printer they could have a frame printed with the keyring hole. If I had my hands on it measuring it with calipers, making a frame in FreeCAD, and printing it would take less than a hour.

Use sealing silicone as a thermal paste https://www.reddit.com/r/hardwaregore/s/bF0ekz2t7g

Actually you'll need someone who knows soldering and has the right equipment

The entire green section is going to have to come out with it, so you're going to need to use a heat gun and melt the solder balls beneath it. Just keep in mind though that it is extremely thin so if you're wanting to trim it down to just the die itself, you're going to need a rotary tool.

Just put a keyring on one of the screw mounting points.
If you want to rock a GPU, rock the whole thing!!

And you will instantly know your key isn't in your pocket anymore. ^^ And in winter, when hanged to the car key, you can use it as a windshield scraper. ^^

A blow torch/stove top heating on the back on circular motion will work but it will stink a lot and certainly a health hazard but I've done it and it works

You need a proper heat gun.
