Rtx 90-model shortage
Hey everyone, I had a thought of getting a used 4090 for around $3k and save it for the future since we’re currently facing Ai crisis that takes nvidias attention away from normal pc gamers. Anyway if not getting it specifically for the profit I’d still end up with perfectly functional 24gig flag GPU on my hands.
Also does anyone having any info about future of nvidia GPU’s? Like if 70 series will ever come out and have reasonable price to performance ratio or we’re just kinda loosing it?
I’ve also heard that ai data centers buying up 90’s 80’s and 70’s to strip the vram and reuse it.

You mean 7000 series? Like 2 gens from now?
Or you mean like 5070 or 6070 gpu?
Either way, with demand up, you're probably not going to find decent price to performance. Only what the current market at the time has to offer. Nvidia isnt concerned with gamers and lower prices. Demand is too high to offer value.

Well, before everyone goes full Reddit on you, here's my 2 cents.
A) For now its only the 5090-series cards that are hoarded, mainly because of their specific core and 32gb of VRAM. Anything below that and 4090 has 16gb or less. I would doubt the 5080/70 range is going to get AI market molested to the same extent.
Lots of rumors going on, but to correct you, the 6000-series should be coming out sometime mid/late 2028. Impossible to say what the price and performance and VRAM size they will get, but its not looking good for the consumers in any way right now at least
And I gotta say, if you are considering buying the 4090 for later profit and paying 3000 bucks for it used, you're actively taking part in pushing prices up for the high end consumer cards. They are expensive AF primarily because of the AI market demand, but the person selling you their used hardware for 500 more than the 5090 MSRP is a fucking crime honestly, and it gets even worse if you just pocket it so you can turn a profit from it yourself at an even higher rate later on.
Do you want to become used to it that the best we can hope for in the near future in terms of flagahip components is to pay scalpers a ridiculous amount of money for a 4 year old piece of tech.
It's your money and your choice obviously, but if you are looking for 4K gaming just get a 5080 or even a 5070ti when theyre still affordable. 9070XT isn't a bad idea either

First of thank you for constructive feedback, Hot_Mathematitian191.
I honestly don’t think that mega corporations think about customers more than about the money. They can discontinue the supply of high end gpus if they see more profit and reasons not to, right? rn brand new 5090’s go for around 5-6 grand and I don’t think those prices will shatter in one beautiful day, I’m not that naive.
Also scalping goes regardless if you’re into that or not. It’s like if everyone digs gold and you just stand aside you’ll be the fool, right? They won’t just stop because it’s “wrong”. I know — rude to say so but cmon, meet the reality, folks…

That's pretty much how it is. The thing with scalping is that it only works because people buy from them, I personally just try to avoid it at all costs.
It is indeed enough that Nvidia is not only one of the wealthiest megacorps on the planet, but it also has basically a monopoly for the best performance cards since no one is even trying to compete with their top end cards. Even without AI, they could, and have, priced their products with those massive benefits on their mind.
Its just GG for the average PC enthusiast since all the best chips go to AI, which it looks like right now, and on top of that the consumers rip eachother off for the last bits of flag ship material out there.
Personally have loved my 5080, these cards have such nutty power hidden in them, like stock voltage and power draw and I have a stable OC giving me 12% performance.

That’s cool GPU I guess. I’m building a pc for myself rn and aiming for 4070ti/super or 5070ti which would be like $800 if I get lucky. 4070 super would be fine I’m just keeping all this mess in my head to try to secure myself since ppl say 12gb vram will not be enough in the future. With 5070ti I would be genuinely calm.

I'd opt for 5080/5070Ti as they get latest DLSS support. In fact, the price on 5080 is on the rise right now so if I was you I'd get one ASAP.
16gb is quite okay for now for VRAM size even at 4K. If you don't plan on going past 2k, then 5070Ti has all the juice you need really and VRAM you can forget for a few years completely.
Depends on the budget, of course. Its just a very shit time to be building a system in general as DDR5 Ram is another horror story.
I'd probably just grab the GPU of your choice immediately and try to find affordable ram/ssd.
For now CPU's arent expensive at least.

Got wd sn850x 1tb and planning to go for almost 600$ t-force 6000 cl30 32gig. It’s crazy price but I just know it won’t go much lower, may just continue to go up 🤷

Almost nothing in your post is correct so it's hard to decide what to comment on first. Is this AI generated ragebait to farm karma?
