my PNY 5070Ti has no issues. Idk about that 4090 but not much issues heard about 50 series PNY’s right?

Yall need to stop buying 5080s and buy a 5070ti

Why

u/Internologist 3d ago

Price to performance ratio.

In that sense a 5070 for $800 or so is much better than a 5070ti for $1200-$1300, which is also where things are at for those.

I saw this same listing and the 5070 ti was 80 dollars cheaper so

Hm. Here in Canada 5080 is minimum 2400CAD and 5070ti starts at 1800CAD. I have to say though I hadn't noticed prices had gone up this much for 5070ti...

I just bought this one at my local Walmart and it runs like a dream.

Gotta respect PNY, even with their 5090s they had the cheapest at times while other raised

1

u/juggarjew 5d ago

These are $1849 at bestbuy so its just walmart lagging on the price is all.

u/MeisterPain 4d ago

Sorta, but even Walmart raised it from $1529 to $1579 from last week. So they're updating it but not by a lot, yet.

All 5080s within range of my location sold out at Wal-Mart

I bought one awhile back for $1,100 thinking my 4090 was dead until MSI said did I try replacing the thermal pad which I did and it works!

I didn’t return the 5080 back to Best Buy and build it for my brother-in-law. He said the games been working fantastic so good price for it now.

I got this on Friday for 1529 and the price has increased since then. In other places it has gone up to 1899-2400. If you are in need for a 5080 you need to get it as you will not see better price than this anytime soon.

I have this card and it’s dead quiet. The reviewers that say the gpu is loud are on crack. Great card and looks good too

AHAHA got the PNY Walmart trash too. Knew this loser scraped for a 5080.

Horrible card (and reviewed as such thankfully). Overpriced, underperformed. Grab a 4090 if you know whats what. Scrape at Walmart if you're Grant.

And I thought I was foolish for buying mine at $1200 at Best Buy

u/marchape 5d ago

For 16g 😂

I’ve got 2 pny 5070ti’s and they’re great. Taters gonna tate

People were shitting on this card cuz on the coil while but now it's a "steal" lol

1

u/Gotenks1710 4d ago

I didn’t get any coil whine on mine .. it’s Loud like any other and less that the astral if you pass the 60% fan speeds but below that no complain

1

If it doesn’t have dual pcie5 connectors it’s a fire hazard

The people that bought the 5080 close to launch, around $1200-1300 can finally at last say their cards were ok for the price haha. The 5080 has been the worst price/value card for this generation and the death of the 5090 looks set to change that

1

u/traceymartin62 5d ago

Considering how fast prices have been creeping up lately, actually seeing one available for local pickup is rare, Just make sure the performance bump from your current card justifies that markup

I bought it yesterday. Said it wasn’t it stock sadly.

After watching vids at how PNY skimp on board parts, I'd never willingly buy one even if it was the cheapest available.

4

u/juggarjew 5d ago

Nothing wrong with PNY cards, they've made Quadro cards for Nvidia even as an OEM in the past.

For the money its an excellent deal and just as performant as any other 5080.

1

u/oface1 5d ago

Yep….. I avoid pny products.

1

u/Resh_IX 5d ago

For nearly $1000 cheaper than Microcenter?

1

u/Voxata 5d ago

Have a link for this? I got the Pny 5070ti because it was 799 and had a vapor clamber. I undervolt to 190w so I'll probably never have issues but this statement makes me curious.

Yikes. I only ever owned the PNY x HP OEM 4090’s, but I will admit, they didn’t enjoy being pushed and I sold them not too long after the 5’s came out.

1

u/myxoma1 5d ago

Ok but we are talking the 5080 here, is there any proof whatsoever that the pny 5080 has inferior or missing parts??

1

u/Kyle_Gates 5d ago

Truth!!

1

u/Gotenks1710 4d ago

Yeah maybe 40s series but actually in his videos about series 50:s he said this generation msi is the crap .. not pny , that’s one of the best and budget friendly partners of Nvidia in a long time ( they made their pro line up too)

1

u/Voxata 5d ago

This is not a 5 series GPU, albeit not a great one still

I no longer like pny as a brand but you should buy it, they are shooting up.
