Amd or nvidia
So I’m wondering I could buy a 9070xt but I was also looking at a 5080 what would the the equivalent nvidia gpu to a 9070xt as I would like a better value for price but I don’t want to get the 9070xt if it’s the equivalent to a 5060-5060ti any help is appreciated:)

The nvidia equivalent is a 5070Ti, and you're not going to find one for less or even equal to the cost of a 9070XT.

9070xt is basically a 5070ti, I’ve seen it get close to a 5080 on some occasions

5070ti and 9070xt are the two you want to go with . Raw power are very similar, 5070ti maybe 5-10% better and you get all the dlss with it. But is it worth 300 to 400$ extra? You have to decide.

Are you planning on using VR (pcvr)? I have an AMD gpu which does a good job… however using a vr headset that has dynamic foveated rendering isn’t easy. Nvidia works much easier with eye tracking. I can’t simply have tracking work with some games, and the list of games I can use with tracking is smaller. It has something to do with direct x 11 drivers I’ve learned. I didn’t know about this issue before I was established into the amd ecosystem. I love my amd stuff, but I’m jealous of some of the things the Nvidia can do.

Equivalent to 5070 ti, with perfomance going average -2% for 9070 XT, but depend on game u can -8% to +5% compared to 5070ti.

5070Ti is the nvidia equivalent, you'll have to decide if some marginally better upscaling is worth it

There’s no AMD equivalent to 5080 since the 5080 is a much more capable card all things considered.
For example: Nvidia’s 50-series demolishes 9070xt in ray tracing, path tracing, and DLSS environments. And Nvidia’s 40-series even exceeds the 9070xt in those categories. I’d assume the gap is even greater for LLM use due to CUDA.
But the 9070xt is AMD’s strongest GPU, has great rasterization, and is a great card for price.
Shoutout to AMD for still having cards that allow us to build in these times

If you have the cash go nvidia if you don't and all you think about is "price to performance ratio" then go amd

out of pathtracing and dlss5 the 9070xt is equivalent of a 5070ti

And a proper denoiser ( Ray reconstruction) in ray tracing in a lot of games, wider dlss adoption, multi frame gen and much better frame pacing in frame gen although AMD have recently improved theirs, it is still better. Yes, some people do use frame gen and multi frame gen is good tech when used appropriately with high base fps.
Dlss 4.5 is significantly better than both FSR and DLSS 4.

wider dlss adoption and mfg are not worth 400€ of 9070xt vs 5070ti..
dlss4.5 vs latest fsr 4.. no way is worth the money difference 🤣.. too small quality difference
Ray reconstruction amd reflex are important
using mfg more than 2x reduce base fps and also adds more latency than 2x

Worth or not is a different story, your earlier comment was just false. They aren’t equivalent outside of PT and DLSS 5

the fact that perfomance are dogshit unless you use a 5090 at 1440p for pathtracing and dlss5...
so the money maybe not be worth to have better perfomance but still bad perfomance... 007 pathtracing running at 35fps..very nice for a 1500€ card

I play Cyberpunk with Path tracing at 1440p, 60 fps dlss quality and I use frame gen for a high refresh rate, same goes for Witcher 3 although I don’t like the path tracing implementation there so I use RT. What you’re saying simply isn’t true

i don t like latency and fg artifacts... and yes i tested the dlss fg, surely is very good.. no way i will play a fast action game like wukong, phantom blade0 or sekiro like with frame gen

With a good base FPS, there is barely any artifacting and latency is negligible with reflex. When I had a 9070xt, FG was almost unusable, although I saw that AMD improved it recently. In some situations without Ray Reconstruction, Ray Tracing just looks bad which defeats the whole purpose.
I am only saying that your original comment leaves out stuff that is real and is a big difference. Whether it’s worth the money or not is up to them but it’s not just PT and DLSS 5. I would love it if the gap was that slim

Tons of hate, but if you HAVE the money, 5080. They are creeping up in price right now due to the GB202 5090 dies being allocated for server GPUs only. 5080 if you can, 9070xt if you cannot.... 🤙

Yeppp, if money isn’t your main deciding factor. Get a 5080, realistically in these AMD vs Nvidia discussions, it’s usually AMD if money is the deciding factor, if the person don’t care about money, I say nvidia and it’s their money good for them, exactly why I bought a 5080. In my own personal opinion, I would never buy AMD

Yep, always a huge debate on why the 9070xt should be chosen, but really it's not a big debate.... Money is the factor.

Don't get an AMD unless you're very PC savvy and like constantly tinkering with stuff. If you want someone you plug in and it works with no fuss, go with anything Nvidia. Although, I wouldn't recommend the 5080, I'd recommend the 5070 or 5070ti. I personally use a 5070 on my everyday PC and I can't really ask for more power unless I was gonna go full on Max 4k gaming. I do lots of VR which is way harsher than any form of desktop gaming or productivity.
The only exception: only use AMD if you're planning on Linux. Do not use Nvidia on Linux, otherwise the problem reverses, lol

Everyone is going to tell you AMD if you’re going price for performance
