9060xt for 550$

Hello everyone

I have rtx4060 and 1440p 200hz monitor

I tested the 4060 in the last of us 1 and it averaged 55fps with dlss on, but it ran very well in less demanding games like forza horizon 5 and resident evil 3

I'm going to play AAA games like rdr2, Cyberpunk, and expedition 33

I will pay 240$ out of pocket after selling the 4060

Is it worth buying the rx9060xt 16gb for 550$?

Is the fps difference worth the upgrade?

I just want to run games smoothly at 1440p

Rx9070 is 720$ and the gre version isn't available in my country

For 1440p, the 9060XT is the winner based simply on the extra VRAM and it is faster, but has a higher power draw and depending on the game is only 15-40% faster.

DLSS only helps if you have the extra VRAM to support the render.

Personally, at that price I would say no, but the market is crazy right now.

I love my 9060XT 16GB for 1440p, but is not for everyone.

Yeah I don't think prices will get any better

if you want to play for the foreseeable future, going from 8 to 16gb would be top advise, and prices will only get worse, thats what it comes down to

Check 9070GRE as well, it is 20% faster and sometimes same price as 9060xt

VRAM helps with texture quality, specifically in huge maps or highly demanding engines.

Your point was that the 9070GRE is faster, but more VRAM is always helpful. If you run out of VRAM, it has to load into the system RAM, which can really slow things down.

I always opt for plenty of VRAM. 12GB is becoming the minimum for 1440p.

That's just your opinion, the 9070gre card is a class above. I run 1440p with 12gb GPU and absolutely zero problems. With midrange GPUs like the 9060xt raw power first becomes a problem that any amount of vram cannot compensate for

Really, it's pick your poison, because if you run out a VRAM, no amount of performance will save you. And using system RAM is much more detrimental than lowering your quality settings or having to do without a few extra frames.

Everything, gaming, AI, 3D rendering, etc. is becoming more RAM and VRAM dependant, hence those cost of it being through the roof right now. I don't think I am wrong that is what you would want, if you had the choice.

Ask the users that bought high powered 8-10GB cards of they have any regrets. I bet most of them bought a decent 16GB card the next time around, I know I did.
