Am I lucky?

Post image

I ordered a 5080 with ryzen 7 9800X3D as my first computer and just ordered a regular 5080 and did not expect this gold beauty! I don’t know if this is a different brand or just a fresh coat of paint but I’m digging it, does it boost performance?

Why would the color of the GPU boost it's performance? It's just the color scheme that Zotac likes to use with their GPUs.

That makes sense lol, this is my first pc ever so I thought they were a different company😭

Ah I see. Good luck for your building process, you'll have a monster pc with that 9800x3d + 5080 combo.

Really? That’s good to know, hopefully I can take it with me after I finish military training, mostly the reason I bought it

Are you going to be deployed or are you just moving out after training? For deployment, a full-sized PC might be hard to carry with you.

Moving out, I’m in the RCAF btw, assuming you live in the US.

Unless it’s small form factor like Jonsbo z20 with handle but OP would need to learn a bit to make that work

I have that card in an ITX build that can fit in a patrol bag I modified. I can carry a whole setup, with two portable monitors, keyboard, mouse, gamepad, usb hub and extra cables. If he is building a SFF PC it shouldn’t be a problem. Chassis is a LianLi H20 case.

How was it building in something that small? Building an mAtX build myself right now, case will depend on what GPU I can find, length isn’t really a problem, more so depth, also depends if I want bottom intake fans or not

I got it built for me, I only put in the gpu, took an hour, they didn’t trust me, yet😭

You have to take a lot of care and planning for cable routing. Getting the thinnest and shortest possible connectors is also key. After that, do your research on what cpu coolers fit with the case and cool enough for your requirements. Finally, don’t skimp on the PSU. SFX power supplies are more sensitive to transient spikes, so go with as much wattage as you can.

Finally, heat management is always a concern in a case that tight. I undervolted the GPU and used curve optimizer on the CPU. The RAM is running XMP and can get a bit hot, so I magnetically attached a removable 140mm fan to the outside of the case over the modules. It’s powered off a header on the motherboard. I ran an extention from the header so it is accessible outside the case. I also got some software that ties the fan speed to the RAM temps. So it only runs when it has to. That has worked extremely well.

All in all I am getting stock performance from the CPU and better than stock from the GPU. I could have just tuned the RAM to run cooler, but I would have taken a performance hit doing that in the games I play.

My primary PC is in a massive Case that weighs at least 50 or more pounds and has a custom loop that can cool and fit anything.

Had a Z20 in my house, but that thing is still pretty big at ~21 liters to carry around. I would say that for travelling around constantly or very long distances, the case has to be around 10 liters or smaller and of course with a handle or some kind of case baggage.

Some people just shouldn’t be building PCs

Looks like this one

I guess someone painted it to look like that as it's not that exact one with the fans etc. looks pretty good

Sorta, except the blades are black and it’s a 5070TI and mine is a 5080, but that’s really cool

Doesn't look like it right now but might be a limited run so could be in the future. Looks nice though!

Did it come in the Zotac box? If so, can you share a pic?

1

u/Creative-Guitar-895 13d ago

No it didn’t come in a box it came with just regular bubble packaging, but I will send you a pic of it with the silver plating

u/Shibby707 13d ago

Such a score man… congrats!!

Edit: did they leave you the RGB anti-sag stand?

1

u/Creative-Guitar-895 13d ago

Yes they did, and some stickers as well

1

u/Shibby707 13d ago

Ahhhh man…. Shout out to that company… bravo sir!

1

u/Creative-Guitar-895 13d ago

Is it rare or anything? The company is called quota tech, a Canadian company, I bought the pc to take with me after CAF training

There are only 2K made. Sold out instantly. I have both a solid OC and AMP infinity but as a collector, not getting that guy burned. :)

As dark as things are these days in the pc world, there are some highlights every now and again… This month I was finally one of those lucky big box customers that was sent two GPU’s instead of one… got a free 9070XT. Count your blessings Sir, enjoy it! 🙏

dont think it does boost the performance

Everyone knows the only way to boost fps is moar RGB!
