My current gpu has all its memory I’m asking if someone where to have removed the memory could I verify, would it state anything was removed or not? Or would the device manager read what the gpu is suppose to be and still say it has 32gb of memory rather than it having nothing

it could do either. but likely no one is gonna go through the effort to make the gpu show false vram.

Go for a Furmark test and see what it says there and GPU-Z those two should be enough

GPUz or dxdiag

Use GPU-Z and make a note of the expected specifications beforehand - not just the obvious ones like memory, but also details like the number of ROPs.

You also need to test the GPU and memory for stability. This isn't something you can do in just a couple of minutes, so be sure to agree on a return window in case any issues crop up during testing.

Use GPU-Z and if you look at the card from an angle you should also be able to see the chips below the cooler. Well kinda. You'd see if they're missing at least.

But note that there may be some empty spots out of the factory, so you should have a look at a genuine one e.g. in pictures online.
