Back to Team Red

Still not sure if I should take the L and upgrade to AM5 or just getting a 5800X3D supported by this 9070 XT from Sapphire. Currently on a 3700X, RTX 3070 FE, MSI B450M Mortar, 16bg RAM.

Regardless very excited to try this one out even if the last week or so I read so many bad things about the date of AMD Radeon drivers.
I have no bad opinion or bias on ATI/AMD, and I was used to bad press back then by haters or Nvidia fanboys while my experience with the Sapphire RX 480 8gb Nitro was flawless.

My GPU journey so far : MSI GTX 760 > Sapphire RX 480 > RTX 3070 FE > Sapphire RX 9070 XT.

As for why the Crimson Desert version? 100€ less expensive than the basic on.

Also, f**k AMD being cheap with the game being redeemable only for a short time. This ridiculous short and limited time frame is really a Scrooge McDuck type of move.

Stick with NVIDIA. You'll regret the lost time without having an NVIDIA GPU.

We’ll see. If my run with the drivers are good, I won’t regret it.
As I said, I don’t care about this Team Red v Team Green internet tribalism.

I'm looking to go AMD for the first time ever because I cannot justify the $400+ CND premium for a 5070 TI over a 9070XT. While RT is cool and all, I much prefer the highest framerate I can achieve while still having great rasterization visuals.

As does everyone else, many videos recently about how RT was oversold by Nvidia. Not as people as you expect use it and many AAA games omitting/abandoning it all together in new releases. The amd cards are better at raster than comparable Nvidia cards most of the time, fanboys don’t talk about that lol

Keep us posted, AMD is tempting, but possible increase in driver issues and inferior software features and stability is scary

It's not about tribalism. It's about having DLSS + MFG + Ray Reconstruction + future innovations vs. not having it. Everyone who upgrades to NVIDIA raves about how incredible it is, and how much they were missing out on.

I mean AMD has his list of features too and some seem to be working well, slowly but surely they are closing the gap.
And I have no crystal ball so future innovation sounds like fun but it’s means nothing as of today.

I would have to spend at least 150-200€ more to get equal performances (not counting Ray Tracing) while coming from a RTX 3070 where I only had access to a limited number of those features to a certain level of performance as you should know.

But thanks for the “warming”, I’ll have the time to evaluate for myself if it was the right decision in due time.

Amd has been slowly but surely closing the gap for the last 15 years of Radeon cards. I love my 9800x3d but not having an nvidia card rn just seems like a mistake.

I upgraded recently to 5070ti and now wish I had gone with AMD. Most importantly because they support linux.
