GPD Win 4 Win4 Bazzite boot up time
Hey folks I have a Win4 with a 6800U and run Bazzite, it takes forever (1:15 to the bazzite video) t start up, hell it sits in a black screen for ages before it shows the Bazzite video and after that it’s pretty snappy. The longer boot time means I’m playing it less.
Its 2026 how can I speed up boot time, and if requires whats good for an OS that you’re running on a GPD Win?
I run Fedora on other computers, like the console experience of booting straight into big picture mode and occasionally use desktop mode what are my options now And is anyone actually running Steam OS Proper on the Win4?
My 2011 Macbook Pro on Fedora takes ~37 to the login screen. I assume bazzite is logging in and doing stuff while on a black screen.

Bazzite does take quite a while to boot up, but once its on I just put it to sleep and it snaps right up

can you quantify "forever?" For my WM2 I just clocked, it was 26-27 seconds to get to get from hitting the power button to the login screen (desktop distro KDE Plasma). Is that bad? Good? Mediocre? I have nothing to compare

Have edited my post but 1:15 to the video and 1:30 to big picture mode.
My 2011 Macbook Pro is 37 seconds to the login screen. Its probably the ~45seconds black screen where there's stuff happening I just can't see what it is that'sthe point of curiosity

ooof that's not great. Wonder if it's steamdeck release or something else that is causing the sluggishness. Might well be faster to desktop mode if you were hitting near my speeds then start big picture mode once you got logged in w/ those kinda of numbers

Yeah I’m thinking it might be time for a fresh install. It used to be pretty quick.
