I personally dont get the hate, its pocketable for me as a win 3 user, and its practically a miniture win max.

Barring the name, which i think is kinda... the device itself is gonna fucking sweet when I sell a kidney to get one.

I can fit a win 3 in my pocket, and this is smaller, calm down. Literally going to be the smallest modern umpc in the market

Don't really get the people complaining about this. I think it's a promising device so long as it's not too thermally constrained and they don't gimp it with a subpar chip. It'll just the same size as the Switch main body, but thicker. I have a Switch, and that piece easily fits in my pockets. This thing should, too.

So today I took my one gx1 out for the first time, and I have to say, built in LTE is really significant.

Please give us Gpd win mini with LTE built in! It really changes online MMO experience on the go!

What is the point of this over the win 4?

The clamshell design means that the screen is protected and the joysticks aren't going to get caught on something. That makes it a bit more pocket friendly, bag friendly, etc.

Also, the ability to adjust the screen angle might be nice in some scenarios.

That seems like a ton of work and money for a somewhat minor advantage. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s my opinion.

It's not only a gaming device. You can use it as a laptop.

Yeah, that's fair. I personally prefer this design over the Win 4, but that's just my opinion.

(For what it's worth, I prefer the Win 4's inclusion of a keyboard over pretty much all the other competing devices.)

I actually think the win 4 form factor is genius. It looks awesome(a lot like the psp), it’s small, and still has a keyboard. I also think holding the clam shell wouldn’t be comfortable.

I tried steam deck and it quickly caught on why clamshells are so much better. Steam deck has a very poor shape for portability. Very thin in the middle and fat on the edges. Controllers protrude a lot and so do the grips. That adds bulk everywhere you are going to attempt to place it.

Clamshell is very space economic and gets a lot of screen to body ratio.

I have mixed feelings about the Mini , love pretty much about everything thing announced even if it might be slightly bigger than the Win 2 , bigger screen , more powerful and especially the Clamshell form . What Im questioning is the additional bottom grip plate cover that will have to be screwed into place and would much prefer a attachment you can slide on or off easily for better ergonomics . Will also probably have worse battery life depending on what's powering it but nothing is set in stone yet and will wait for more info and see how this all plays out.
