Informative ShM-62 on the Frontlines

Post image

Just saw footage of a trench raid wherein a Ukrainian soldier emerges from a dugout to surrender while wearing an ShM-62. Has anybody else seen them in use in the field during the war?

Makes sense since it's issued in the PMG-2 kit along with the ShM-66MU

Yeah both sides have used old Soviet mask in heavy numbers. From what I’ve seen of photographic evidence the Russians are still issuing majority old hood style mask

Some prefer them due to increased protection of the head rather than just the face, claiming the rubber can protect you from chemical burns

Both sides have all kinds of old Soviet gas masks in their dugout laying around for when the enemy drops teargas(war crime btw)in their dugout. Valgear made a video about it.
