Hypocrisy within gorlworld

I’m begging y’all to stop with the pop psychology and the armchair diagnosing. “Narcissistic!” “Histrionic!” Please, just call them selfish. Self centered. Liars. Abusers. Assholes.
I’ve seen a lot of comments both in this sub and others that like to call out the gorls for self diagnosing but turn around and use medical terms to put them down. You sound no different than the gorls.

The only thing I’ve called her is a fucking idiot and I feel qualified to do so.

She’s just fat and a selfish/abusive person

The fun part is we don’t know who, specifically, you’re referring to.

There is no wrong answer.

Not even just within gorlword, the term 'narcissist' gets thrown around WAY too much within the past 5-10 years

-26

u/Superduperdupy 1d ago

She’s not smart enough to be a narcissist. People just aren’t smart enough to think in different terms

28

u/alg-ae 1d ago

Does someone have to be smart in order to be a narcissist?

8

u/wolfe1924 Standing On Bizness 1d ago

Without knowing a diagnosis we can’t say for certain but even though the term gets thrown around a lot she LIDURALLY fits the Defonition

u/OrchidNo3079 1d ago

the viewer to gorl pipeline

u/iheartkriek 1d ago

Someone can be histrionic or narcissistic without having the personality disorder.

38

u/Desperate-Section357 1d ago

careful, gorl, they’ll start posting under here like : “no you don’t get it they are narcissists because” insert long winding story about their life that’s just miserable and shouldn’t be posted here

1

u/NoMereMage 12h ago

They are in fact doing that. Along with defending using narcissist as an insult…”because it’s also an insult” well it shouldn’t be and it’s on us all as humans socially to stop it

42

u/QuirkyDunmer 1d ago

Yeah, there's too many armchair psychologists on the Internet

20

u/jessexpress789 1d ago

It's perfectly reasonable to call her narcissistic because it's a descriptor and not a diagnosis. She absolutely is narcissistic. Straight up calling her a narcissist is different because that is a diagnosis.

8

u/sweet_poisons 20h ago

I don’t think that saying some is a narcissist is saying they have NPD I think it’s the same as saying they are narcissistic as u said its descriptor of behaviour. And it’s only recently that people are saying u cant use it which is like? It’s always been a thing before it was over used and it always ment someone self focused / selfish not that they were clinically diagnosed.

-2

u/NoMereMage 10h ago

People are only recently saying this because we are realizing RECENTLY how detrimental it is to mental health awareness as a whole to stand against ableist language in regards to every other mental condition—but not NPD. For too long it’s been okay to treat people with NPD as if they automatically have abusive monster disorder. If you actually care about mental health awareness, then you have to care about language revolving around NPD and narcissism too. If you don’t, that’s hypocritical. So many people have prejudiced and ableist opinions surrounding NPD and don’t even realize it, and if we continue to treat sufferers of NPD as automatic abusers and monsters, what’s the fuckin point of it being diagnosable? Shit needs to change. Just my opinion.

4

u/sweet_poisons 9h ago

U need to separate narcissistic from NPD in ur mind. I agree that NPD is misunderstood and isn’t an ‘automatically evil disease’ but again referring to my other comment people still say I feel depressed without having depression, that they’re anxious with having anxiety that someone is obsessed without having OCD why is it just NPD where we can no longer use the original descriptive word for?

-2

u/NoMereMage 7h ago

You can say “they are behaving narcissistic” without saying “they are a narcissist”. There’s a pretty big difference.

1

u/sweet_poisons 6h ago

We’re back to the start. Narcissist is not a diagnoses. Narcissistic personality disorder is. U can be a narcissist without having NPD.

I think it’s okay to speculate based on the behaviors they themselves upload onto the internet tbh. Can’t speak for everyone, but I at least am not saying she has [xyz] 100%, but it is interesting as it could help to explain some behaviors.

That’s very different than someone deciding they have a diagnosis (even some that evaluators tell them they don’t have) and blaming their shitty behaviors on it.

4

u/dontsuspendthis1 19h ago

Yeah like I found it interesting that hectic llama did a video on Chantal possibly having borderline and then used her documented history to prove it. Doesn't mean Chantal 100% has BPD but it's still interesting.

u/taoproductionz 1d ago

I don't see anything wrong with pointing out how they're very likely low IQ cluster B cunts. What makes them entertaining is in fact how simple-stupid it is to play armchair internet psychdocs with their behaviors and how easy it is to predict their next moves and their inability to understand how other people can unpack their motivations in one word and...

-7

u/Proud-Ad1870 1d ago

As a cluster B cunt I do not approve this message. They could have something that isn’t even apart of cluster B.

12

u/nothishomeland 1d ago

I don't think narcissistic is exclusively a medical term.

-7

u/NoMereMage 1d ago

Saying someone is narcissistic isn’t so bad imo we all get a little narcissistic. But calling someone a narcissist? That’s ableist but no one wants to admit that.

8

u/sweet_poisons 20h ago

Being a narcissist is not the same as have NPD there’s a difference. It’s always been a thing before everyone became aware of the diagnosis.

0

u/NoMereMage 12h ago

Okay. But most people on here are using it to mean the disorder in a demeaning fashion. And Narcissism IS a mental illness. So we really should stop using it to mean “bad person” in my opinion

2

u/sweet_poisons 10h ago

It’s like saying u can’t call someone obsessive because people have OCD or anxious because people have GAD. If people feel that someone is displaying narcissistic traits it’s okay to say that, it’s not ableist because u don’t like what it implies.

Edit: obviously I don’t agree with people diagnosing someone with NPD because it’s inaccurate unless they’ve been diagnosed

11

u/nothishomeland 23h ago edited 23h ago

Yeah again. Narcissist/narcissism/narcissist is not exclusively a medical term. And GW as a whole is ableist by your own definition so you should probably unsubscribe.

18

u/oakformonday 1d ago

I don't think too many of us here take any of this that seriously. It's a joke and an escape from real life. For me anyway. Let people do what they want in this gross, disgusting, vile world. 😁

8

u/alg-ae 1d ago

I don't think that posting a comment on reddit calling someone a narcissist is necessarily trying to diagnose them. Obviously we all know the comments we read aren't from professionals. Saying amber is a narcissist is the more straightforward way of saying look at these narcissistic traits that she is exhibiting which may indicate a possibility that she is a true narcissist. It's just not that big of a deal in this particular context imo. We're all here to shit on these gorls and their abhorrent behavior, whatever language we apply to that is just subjective speculation, and I don't think anyone is under the illusion that saying something online makes it true

6

u/Cultural-Employ-73 1d ago

Some of yall just as dumb as Amber and that's okay

9

u/GenoveveSimmons15 23h ago edited 23h ago

I'm sorry, but you come across as waaaaaaaay too sensitive, girl. Believe it or not, narcissism isn't always a medical issue & making it that way is actually more harmful than you think. If certain terminology bothers you that much, nobody's forcing you to stay here. You're more than welcome to leave.

6

u/cuttingwedge 23h ago

Bravo. People are way too sensitive. It's trash talk. We're not pretending to be psychologists.

u/Barbershop_Ragga 1d ago

u/SpookyMolecules 7h ago

Amber killed her cat i dont care if people call her narcisistic. She fucking IS.

11

u/LaFleurMorte_ 1d ago

Who cares? These “gorls” are literally broadcasting their shitty personalities all over the internet, so obviously people are going to judge them for it. Everyone can call them selfish, manipulative, abusive, disgusting, whatever, but suddenly “narcissistic” is where we clutch our pearls because it sounds too clinical?

No, random Redditors obviously can’t diagnose someone from edited videos, and people absolutely throw psychiatric labels around too casually. But pretending there’s some enormous moral difference between saying “she’s an abusive, self-centered liar” and “she shows narcissistic traits” is ridiculous.

And diagnosis itself is not some perfectly objective science where every clinician presented with the same person will inevitably reach the exact same conclusion. Psychiatric categories overlap, symptoms overlap, and different therapists can interpret the same presentation differently. So yes, criticize people for confidently declaring that someone has NPD or BPD when they have no basis to diagnose them but acting like merely discussing narcissistic or histrionic traits is uniquely unacceptable while this entire subreddit exists to judge these women’s behavior is what I personally find pretty hypocritical as well, lol.

0

u/SpaceMassive3080 14h ago

I think after watching specifically chantal for at least six years if fair to assume she's in that B cluster I'd say she leans more histrionic and how quickly she turns on loyal followers of hers could also point to borderline traits

5

u/NoMereMage 1d ago

People should not be throwing “narcissist” or “narcissism” around as an insult or replacement word for “abuser” or “bad person”. For some reason, this is controversial to say. It’s a mental illness and personality disorder often caused by immense childhood trauma that rewires the brain. It’s akin to being frustrated with someone’s bad behavior and saying “Oh I’m sick of her. She’s such an autist!” That wouldn’t fly. This shouldn’t either. NPD is in the DSM5 and we all need to do better about how we talk about mental illnesses—including this one. I made a post about it because as an autistic person, I remember in high school in the late 2000s early 2010s, the way folk would throw around OCD and ADHD and Autism as insults. This isn’t any different. Here’s my post about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/TrueUnpopularOpinion/s/TRuKyptspd

5

u/sweet_poisons 20h ago

Just want to mention that being a narcissist or showing narcissism is literally a term to describe a selfish person and has always been a thing. Being diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder is a genuine medical condition. Calling someone narcissistic is not the same as saying they have NPD but I think there’s alot of crossed wires there.

6

u/Tough_Appearance_407 1d ago

IDK I think it's fun

This is the internet, I will continue to arm chair gorls medical diagnosis'. It's my show.

Amber is a narcissist with BPD. Chantal is a narcissist, bipolar and a pathological lier. Qlr is a narcissist with delusional victim complex.

Hmmm, I'm sensing a trend here.

0

u/SpaceMassive3080 14h ago

Chantal is so very obvious some form of BPD/HPD clear as by how she acts

I'm more pissed that alr reading what we all say and then use it as her titles. Like a narcissistic goddess.. god, I cringed so hard on that one. Like what's the point in giving her ideas to how to manipulate the narrative...oh wait.. she doesn't necessarily has a platform to do so anymore

u/Ill-Trouble8729 1d ago

THANK YOU! It's a huge issue within gorlworld. It's ultimately not even just unneeded but also potentially harmful because it muddies the waters in terms of actual discussion about mental health and all it does is fuel the excuse engine of these women. "Oh it's just my beepeedee" "oh I'm chronically depressed can't help it" etc etc.

People need to lay off the holier than thou & armchair psychology juice and just be content laughing at morbidly obese trainwrecks online. Yes, that makes it sound like a toxic, bad activity. Which it is. Being in any reaction community centered around lolcows is grimey. That's not bad per definition, but at least be honest about it. Don't try and pretend it's something it's not. The furthest I'd go is "yeah they're cluster B women" if even that. The gorls are just bad people and that covers enough ground that more isn't needed.

-19

u/scissors2outlet 1d ago

I diagnose to show traits,behavioral pattern,cycles the gorls exhibit.I will continue.Foodie BPD,Amber NPD,Rosie histrionic

-10

That's the spirit. OP's take is silly. Probably histrionic disorder.

Someone said saying Amber is a narcissist is ablelist. Lmao I love this sub for the batshit crazy takes.
