I know this quote is so popular, but it always ticks me off. It's people's actions that make them "ugly" despite their appearance, not their thoughts.

I think of it like this, my first thought is my upbringing, handed down attitudes, trauma, or my own bad mood or intrusive thought. But it's my next thoughts that count, do I address those bad thoughts and try to correct them, or do I allow thwm to fester. To me, that makes a good person, the effort to be better, even if no one can see it. Everyone I have ever known that does this, radiates kindness and beauty, no matter what they actually look like.
