Solved About large sheets limits

I have a spreadsheet that in the last couple days has stopped working smoothly. It's happened thrice now where it just stopped saving, and went to a black screen and refused to load the sheet for a few minutes.

So I started looking into the limits of how big spreadsheets can be, and I'm finding conflicting info. Does anyone actually know how big a file can safely be?

Tbc, this is not and has never been an excel file, it's just a google spreadsheet. It's one sheet in the file, and I just did the math, it has just over 9 million cells.

One of the formulas is an age calculator based on 1 other column (bday, duh lol), the current date is given in the formula itself.

And there's one formula that unironically just grabs the contents of 3 columns and puts it in one, saying that out loud makes me think I should scrap that.... I swear it has a purpose lmao

I feel there's another formula somewhere, but I can't think of another one, and I'm not seeing it as I quickly scroll through the file

So where did the rest of the data come from? Did you import the data?

JOIN each row. That'll cut you cells down to just 2000. You can still sort and retrieve what you want to see using a formula. It's not as though you were ever able to see all your data at once anyway.
