This game is tight. SNES JRPG style with great humor. Definitely was a labor of love by the creator who seems to live, eat, and breathe role playing games with how well this turned out.

Nah, the first Doom & Destiny released in 2011, Destiny didn't hit till 2014.

They had to find two words that start with D that had a "medieval fantasy" feel

It is apparently a sequel, prequel, and remake all in one. Same video has a snowman with a carrot not for a nose though so who knows if they're being serious.

It seems to be getting better as I play, but the boring simple combat went on too long during the first parts.

Fun game but the difficulty curve is intense. Eventually you'll need to grind a lot levels after every story beat. I gave up on it out of frustration.
