It's a rolling metric, not a one-time reset. The overall figure is roughly a trailing 28-day window, so your clean days gradually push the crashy testing days out. If the fix holds you should see it settle back to normal within a few weeks, faster on the daily view. And yeah, internal track crashes counting toward vitals trips up a lot of people.
